A 21-year-old Carson City man faces a gross misdemeanor charge of child endangerment/abuse and misdemeanor domestic battery after he was arrested Sept. 22, in the 3000 block of Florentine Drive.
According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to an Airport Road address for a domestic battery. Officers report the victim, who is pregnant, and the suspect were arguing and the man pushed the victim out of the front door of the apartment. The victim told officers they were arguing because the man wanted to go to the bar rather than spend time with her, the arrest report states.
The victim said she asked the man to stop because she was holding on to her one-year-old child. The woman told officers she walked into the residence through the front door and the man threw her onto the bed while she was holding the baby, the arrest report states.
She said kicked the man in his legs and stomach to get him to stop. The man then punched the woman in the left forearm, she told officers. She used her forearm to blocker her pregnant stomach, the report states, and called 911. She said the suspect then left the scene. The report states that the woman was crying and had a red, swollen bump on her left forearm.
A deputy located the suspect in the 3100 block of Florentine Drive and took him into custody. At jail the man was read his Miranda rights and stated to officers that he wanted to talk.
He said that he and the woman were arguing and he moved some of her belongings outside of their apartment because she was threatening to move out. He said he grabbed the woman's left arm and "moved" her back into the apartment, the arrest report states. The suspect said the woman then hit him in the chest.
He said the woman injured her forearm when it hit the door handle on the way out of the apartment. He said the woman then tripped on the bed and she fell. The suspect said the woman was holding the one-year-old in her arms during the incident and that all three fell to the ground. He denied having any visible injury to his chest.
Officers determined the man was the primary aggressor. He faces a gross misdemeanor charge of child abuse/neglect/endangerment and misdemeanor domestic battery. Bail: $5,637.
In other misdemeanor-related arrests:
— A 65-year-old Carson City man was arrested at around 2 p.m., Sept. 20, at a grocery store in the 500 block of East William Street. He faces misdemeanor charges of battery, destruction of property, trespassing and petit larceny.
According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to the the address in reference to a subject that had been detained in a grocery store for being combative with store staff.
Officers were led to the upstairs area in a room where the arrestee was located laying face down on the floor. Officers took physical control of him and ordered him to place his right hand behind his back and was cuffed.
Officers learned the man had earlier filled his backpack with multiple items and attempted to leave the store. The manager said he did not want to arrest the man but just wanted him to leave the store and not return.
He said the man then returned to the store and was observed walking around inside. He said the man was observed exiting the liquor department with a bottle of Gentleman Jack Whiskey that had been opened and 3/4 of the bottle was empty. The manager said he stopped the man in the store and asked him what happened to the bottle of whiskey. The man told the manager he drank it, the arrest report states. The manager then escorted the man to the managers office. Once upstairs, the man became verbal and told the manager he was thirsty and attempted to grab and drink out of the bottle of whiskey he had already drank out of.
The manager then grabbed the bottle of whiskey and pulled it away from the man. The manager said he began to tell the suspect about the trespass warning he was given earlier and then the man then grabbed the manger by both of his arms and began pushing him.
The manager said the man attempted to push him and exit the office. The manager said he pushed the man back into the chair. The manager said the suspect then physically laid down on the office floor and did not move. The manager related to deputies that a phone in the officer had been damaged during the suspect's attempt to leave.
The suspect was arrested on the offenses and taken to jail. The total amount for the bottle of whiskey is $36.53. Bail: $2,373.
— A 55-year-old Carson City man was arrested at 9:50 p.m. Sept. 22 in the 3800 block of Highway 50 East. He faces a misdemeanor DUI charge.
According to the arrest report, officers responded to the area for a report of a man seen in the street along College Parkway near a white truck that was stuck on the median.
The man initially told officer he had not been drinking. However the man was slurring his words, mumbling and smelled of alcohol. He admitted to drinking three beers earlier in the day and said that he took Lisinopril, Lamital and Dilantin earlier in the morning, the arrest report states. He declined to take a series of standardized field sobriety tests. A blood draw indicated a BAC of .108. Bail: $1,132.
— A 37-year-old Silver Springs man was arrested at 10:56 p.m. Sept. 20 near North Lompa and East Nye streets. He faces misdemeanor charges of DUI, following too closely and open container. Officers stopped the man after they observed the vehicle he was driving come up behind a patrol car, nearly rear-ending it. Bail: $1,476.
— A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested at 12:13 a.m. Sept. 21 in the 1700 block of North Edmonds. He faces a DUI (second) charge. The man had a previous DUI conviction in April 2009. He was stopped for suspected DUI. Bail: $2,637.
— A 48-year-old Carson City woman was arrested at 11:19 p.m. Sept. 20 in the 4000 block of South Carson City. She faces a misdemeanor charge of DUI (second). The woman was pulled over after going through a fast food drive through window and was intoxicated, barely to able to complete her order. The woman had a strong odor of alcohol coming from her breath and had slurred speech. She told the officer she had three beers earlier and volunteered that she had smoked marijuana 30 minutes prior. She had been convicted of DUI in April 2013. Bail: $2,637.
— A 21-year-old Carson City woman was arrested at 1:18 a.m. Sept. 21, in the 1600 block of East Fifth Street. She faces a misdemeanor DUI charge. Bail: $1,132.
— A 19-year-old Dayton man was booked into Carson City jail on Sept. 20, noon on a failure to appear charge. Bail: $311.
— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sept. 20, 6:43 p.m. in the area of Woodside and Stanford. He faces misdemeanor charges of driving with a suspended registration and failure to appear in traffic court. Bail: $516.
— A 22-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sept. 21, 6:50 p.m. in the 5000 block of South Carson Street. She faces a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear, contempt of court. Bail: $215.
— A 20-year-old Stateline man was arrested Sept. 20, 7:28 p.m. during a traffic stop on the freeway near Arrowhead Drive. The man faces misdemeanor charges of failure to appear on a traffic warrant out of Tahoe Justice Court and possession of drug paraphernalia. A marijuana pipe was found under the seat of the vehicle after the man gave consent to search the vehicle. Bail: $1,539.
— A 20-year-old transient was booked into Carson City Jail on Sept. 20, 10 a.m. He faces a misdemeanor charge of being in violation of pretrial supervision. Bail: $3,000.
— A 27-year-old Gardnerville man was booked into Carson City Jail on Sept. 20, 10 a.m. He faces a contempt of court charge. Bail: $500.
— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sept. 21, 6:51 p.m. near Carson Meadows and Telegraph streets. He faces a misdemeanor charge of failure to comply with a warrant. Bail: $497.
— A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sept. 22, 1 a.m. in the 300 block of North Carson Street. He faces a misdemeanor charge of probation violation. Bail: $3,000.
— A 44-year-old Reno woman faces a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear. She was arrested Sept. 21, 10:58 p.m. in the area of South Carson and Rhodes streets. Bail: $437.
Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
