A 27-year-old man was arrested Wednesday on felony drug charges after deputies searched his Jeep and found Oxycodone pills and methamphetamine inside a safe, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Kenneth Dominici of Carson City, who is listed as unemployed, was stopped at 9:21 p.m. in the area of Market Street east of Retail Drive after officers observed his left brake light not working and a shattered windshield directly in front of the driver's side.

Based on drugs previously found in the Jeep, the deputy requested a K9 officer to respond. Officers located the drugs inside the safe after the man gave consent for a K9 to search. Dominici stated the safe inside the Jeep wasn't his but belonged to his girlfriend and he did not know what was inside, the arrest report states.

Officers opened the safe with the man's consent and found a large prescription bottle for Oxycodone in the man's name. Officers also found a small yellow ziplock baggie with 7 Oxycodone pills in it, packaged for sale, and a pay and owe sheet that listed several people's names on it with dollar amounts, the arrest report states.

The sheet also listed pills out: 70, money-owed $416, the arrest report states. Also found was a baggie with 1.1 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale with white residue on it, numerous empty baggies with residue, hypodermic needles, knives and other items with Dominici's name or his initial K on them, the arrest report states.

Officers arrested the man on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale, the seven Oxycodone packaged in a baggie and possession of meth, both felonies. He also faces misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, non-function brake lights, obstructed windshield and no proof of insurance. Bail: $9,493.

In other arrests:
— A 20-year-old transient was arrested early Thursday, 2:16 a.m. in the 2700 block of South Carson Street on warrant misdemeanor charges of failure to comply out of Sparks Municipal Court and minor consuming alcohol.

Officers were dispatched to a motel room on a noise complaint. Two of the three people in the room were hiding in the bathroom. One of them was the 20-year-old with the warrant. He submitted to a breath test with a result of .020. Bail: $997.

— A 37-year-old South Lake Tahoe man was arrested during a traffic stop on State Route 28 on misdemeanor warrants issued from the Nevada Highway Patrol and Nye County. The man was stopped for having a vehicle with suspended registration. Bail: $2,236.

— A 52-year-old Yerington man was arrested Wednesday, 11:40 p.m. in the 3300 block of Highway 50 East on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI, driving on an expired registration and failure to maintain a lane of travel, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

According to the arrest report, officers observed the driver going eastbound on Long Street near State, honking his horn and swerving back and forth into the oncoming travel lane.
The vehicle made a right turn onto Russell Way, failing to stop at the stop sign and then went southbound in the northbound lane of travel. The registration came back from dispatch as expiring in April 2014.

The deputy stopped the vehicle, making contact with the driver and explaining the reason for the stop. The man said he was headed to his home in Yerington. The officer could detect an overwhelming odor of alcohol coming from his breath, the arrest report states. When the officer asked the man how much he had to drink, the men stated a lot, the arrest report states.

The man exited the vehicle and grabbed onto the car door to keep his balance, the report states. Several times the officer asked the man to submit to field sobriety tests, and each time the man stated he was too drunk to do them. The officer asked the man to submit to a preliminary breath test. The man refused after several requests. He was taken into custody and to jail. The man stated he would do a blood test. A sample was taken. Bail: $1,351.

Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
