Carson City sheriff's arrest log: Jail inmate charged after destroying cell door

A 22-year-old inmate at Carson City Jail faces a gross misdemeanor charge of damage to jail property after allegedly destroying a food slot to his jail cell sometime Tuesday, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report, a deputy at the jail observed the man grabbing the cover of the food slot and slamming the hinges. The four bolts secured to the door to the food slot were destroyed. The damage was to an extent to where the door of the cell must be replaced. Bail: $2,500.

In other arrests: A 29-year-old Reno man, Todd Christopher Pool, was booked Tuesday, 1:15 p.m. into Carson City jail on two felony grand larceny warrants issued Feb. 20 and Feb. 21, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $30,000.

— A 32-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday 2:29 p.m. in the area of Carson and Adams streets on a misdemeanor warrant, failure to appear, driving with a suspended license and a nonfunctioning brake light. Bail: $1,602.

— A 27-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Tuesday, 1:15 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a suspended sentence, issued Sept. 17, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.

— A 60-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 4:51 p.m. in the 2300 block of Baker Drive on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of bail conditions, issued Oct. 28, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.

— A 35-year-old Carson City man was booked Monday, 3:25 p.m. into Carson City Jail a misdemeanor warrant for domestic battery issued Oct. 20, 2015. Bail: $3,000.

— A 24-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday, 9:40 p.m. in the 1500 block of Lompa Lane on suspicion of trespassing and violation of probation conditions. Bail: $3,242.

— A 48-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday, 12:11 a.m. in the 4000 block of Bigelow Drive on misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery. According to the arrest report the woman allegedly battered her ex-boyfriend by scratching him on the right side of his face. The woman denied scratching the man, stating the man slipped and fell which caused his face to bleed.

The victim told the officer the two began arguing because the woman had been drinking and wanted to drive his truck. He tried to stop her and get his keys back and that is when she scratched the right side of his face. The woman was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.

— A 24-year-old Carson City man, Matthew Ryan Patellos, was booked into jail Sunday, 3:40 p.m on a felony failure to appear warrant issued Aug. 25, 2015 out of Carson City District Court, and a misdemeanor warrant issued Oct. 9, 2015 out of justice court. Bail for the misdemeanor charge, $3,000. No bail hold for the felony warrant.

— A 36-year-old Chandler, Ariz., man was arrested Sunday, 5:25 p.m. in the area of College Parkway and Highway 50 East on misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, DUI and open container.
According to the arrest report, the man passed an officer in a marked patrol going approximately 80 mph in a 50 mph zone on Highway 50 near East Nye Lane. The officer activated his lights but the vehicle continued on to the College Parkway intersection and slowed down once he saw the officer behind him. The driver turned north onto College Parkway and stopped in the travel lane, the arrest report states.

The deputy made contact with the driver and immediately smelled alcohol on the man’s breath. The officer asked the man if he had an emergency and the man replied he did not. The officer asked the man where he was coming from. The man replied he had left a restaurant and bar on South Carson Street and stated he was on his way home to “Mindenville.”

The officer asked the man if he had been drinking. The man replied he had not. The officer asked the man if he knew where he was and he said he thought he was close to Carson City or “Mindenville,” the arrest report states. He was asked to submit to field sobriety tests. He admitted he had two tall beers at a South Carson Street restaurant/bar with dinner. He registered a .133 on a preliminary breath test and was arrested. At jail he submitted to a blood draw. During a vehicle inventory officers located an open can of Bud Light that was nearly empty. Bail: $1,966.

— A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 1:19 a.m. in the area of East Washington Street and North Stewart Street on misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery first offense.

Officers were called to the location for a domestic battery call, according to the arrest report. A deputy observed the victim, who was bleeding from the mouth. She told the officer she fell to the ground and said without being asked that she was never hit. The suspect was bleeding from his right finger and knuckles and had a laceration on his hand. The officer asked the suspect what happened. The man couldn’t tell the officer and provided a reason for the injuries. The officer placed the man under arrest. At jail he submitted to a breath test of a .204. Bail: $3,137.

— A 29-year-old Coleville man was booked Sunday into Carson City Jail on a misdemeanor warrant, issued Aug. 26, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.

— A 24-year-old Gardnerville woman was booked Sunday into Carson City jail on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued Aug. 19, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.
