A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, April 1, 12:55 a.m. in the area of Dan and Roop streets on a misdemeanor charge of probation violation, being out past a court ordered curfew, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said. Bail: $3,000.
In other arrests: A 34-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 8:43 p.m. in the 3600 block of North Carson Street on four misdemeanor charges: Petit larceny, violation of a suspended sentence, criminal contempt, and violation of bail conditions, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
According to the arrest report, the man entered a grocery store, took several items off shelves, hid them in his jacket and walked out without paying, the arrest report states. He was stopped by store security. An officer with the Department of Alternative Sentencing also arrived and advised the man is on probation for three separate cases, two of which are for theft. They advised to add a charge of criminal contempt, a charge of violation of bail conditions and violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $4,852.
— A 49-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 7:34 p.m. in the area of Airport Road and Thurman on a misdemeanor warrant issued out of Dayton Township Court in Lyon County, dated March 10, 2015. Bail: $1,000.
— A 51-year-old Carson City woman, Cathleen M. McDougal, was booked into Carson City jail Monday after turning herself in on a felony warrant alleging forgery. The warrant was issued Feb. 24, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court.
According to the arrest report, an officer went to the front counter of the Carson City Sheriff’s Office and made contact with the woman. She told the officer that she had a warrant for her arrest and she immediately came to the sheriff’s office to turn herself in, the arrest report states. Bail: $7,500.
— A 62-year-old Reno man was arrested Monday, 6:08 p.m. in the 2000 block of North Carson Street on a gross misdemeanor charge of stalking.
According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to a business regarding a transient who had been harassing an employee for a couple weeks.
The victim told officers the man had been coming into the business every time she is there, has left her notes, often covered in blood, both when she is at work and when she is not on duty. She said she has asked the man to leave her alone multiple times but he continues to harass her at work. She told officers she doesn’t feel safe and is afraid to leave work alone.
The woman advised to officers that that the man told her he would be at a fast food restaurant. Officer made contact with the man outside at a bus stop and arrested him. Bail: $2,500.
— A 25-year-old Carson City woman was booked into jail Monday, 11 a.m. on a misdemeanor disorderly conduct warrant charge issued March 27, 2015. Bail: $1,000.
— A 65-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday, 6:10 p.m. in the 3100 block of Imperial Way on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and prescription drugs, a misdemeanor. According to the arrest report, a witness informed an officer the woman had been driving and may be intoxicated. The officer located the woman in a parking area seating in the driver’s seat and had run into the garage door.
An officer knocked on the window and the woman didn’t respond. The officer opened the driver side door and asked to speak with the woman. She agreed and told the officer had had been drinking and that she had taken prescribed medication earlier in the day. She agreed to standardized field sobriety tests in which she failed. She provided a preliminary breath test of .245. At jail the woman stated she would consent to a blood test. Bail: $1,137.
— A 24-year-old Dayton man was booked into Carson City jail March 30 on a contempt of court warrant, issued March 18, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 25-year-old Yerington man was booked into Carson City jail March 30, 6:45 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant, failure to appear in court, issued Jan. 7, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $740.
Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
