A 25-year-old Dayton woman was arrested Wednesday at a Carson City supermarket after allegedly eating food without paying and then attempting to walk out of the store with a can of Dust Off.
According to the Carson City Sheriff's Office arrest report, the woman faces misdemeanor charges of larceny and violation of bail conditions. Deputies were dispatched to a William Street supermarket at 1:39 p.m. on a report of a larceny.
The supermarket's loss prevention had detained the woman. He told told the Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy that a woman consumed three items from the store without paying for them and then left the store with a can of "Dust-Off."
Loss prevention asked that charges be filed. The woman was read her Miranda rights and she stated she did not wish to speak, however as she was speaking to someone on her cell phone, she stated "they caught me stealing," according to the arrest report.
Dispatch advised the woman was on Alternative Sentencing with an "obey all laws" clause. Alternative Sentencing stated the woman was to be held on violation of conditions. Bail: $3,352.
In other arrests: A 27-year-old Stagecoach man was booked into Carson City Jail Wednesday, 4:38 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant for violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $3,000. The warrant was issued March 7, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court.
— A 22-year-old Sparks man was booked into Carson City Jail Wednesday on a warrant for contempt of court issued out of Carson City Justice Court on Jan. 15, 2014. Bail: $500.
— Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a Reno woman Wednesday in the 100 block of Telegraph Avenue. She faces misdemeanor charges of public intoxication and obstructing police officers. According to the arrest report the woman was reported to be passed out in the driver's side of a vehicle parked in front of a bar.
Officers arrived and saw the woman passed out and attempted to wake her up. Officers could smell alcohol on the woman and attempted to speak with her, suggesting that she use her cell phone to call someone to pick her up, according to the arrest report.
The woman responded with a stream of obscenities, telling the officer to "shut the f*** up you f*****g idiot" and "you're not taking me to jail you f*****g moron." The deputy attempted to help the woman look for a telephone number to see if a person would be willing to come to her aid, the arrest report states. As the officer looked at the cell phone, the woman slapped the phone out of the deputy's hand. Bail: $501.
— A 36-year-old South Lake Tahoe woman was booked Wednesday into Carson City on a misdemeanor warrant charge of failure to appear to traffic court. The warrant was issued Dec. 16, 2013 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $955.
Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
