These subjects were arrested over the weekend by Carson City Sheriff's deputies:
—Christopher Glen Hammond, 35, was arrested Saturday evening in the 1900 block of Long Street for misdemeanor DUI, failure to maintain lane, open container and gross misdemeanor child endangerment.
According to the arrest report, deputies received a report that Hammond was driving while under the influence with a nine-year-old child in the vehicle. Deputies stopped Hammond and gave him a series of field sobriety tests, which he allegedly failed. Two breath tests conducted later at the jail showed blood alcohol content at .152 and .156. An inventory of the vehicle also uncovered an open bottle of vodka in the front seat.
Washoe County Sheriff's deputies took custody of the child, and informed Carson City officers that prior to his arrest, Hammond had been in an altercation with another person who discharged a firearm to stop Hammond from beating him.
Bail was set at $3,926.
—Rechie Kitaoka, 55, was arrested Saturday night for felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor ex-felon failing to register.
According to the arrest report, deputies spotted Kitaoka in an alley near 5th and Harbin streets with a subject known for methamphetamine use. When deputies contacted Kitaoka, they found he was an ex-felon who served time for manslaughter, armed robbery and attempted murder, and had not registered his current address. A search of his person found a bag with methamphetamine. Bail was set at $2,737.
—Carson City deputies arrested three subjects for felony parole violations. All are being held without bail:
- Matthew Paul Anton, 27, of Gardnerville, was arrested Saturday night in the 3800 block of Highway 50 East after deputies found him inside a casino in violation of his parole. They also discovered a small amount of marijuana and a glass pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue.
- Ernesto Espino-Hernandez, 25, of Carson City, was arrested Saturday evening near North Edmonds and Gordon for allegedly violating parole by being in a car with known gang members who assaulted a person the night before.
- Timothy Newman, 22, of Carson City, was arrested Saturday night after deputies witnessed him and another person arguing near the corner of Williams and Anderson streets. Deputies suspected he has consumed alcohol in violation of his parole, and a breath test conducted later showed a blood alcohol content of .18.
