The family of a 31-year-old Carson CIty pedestrian who was struck on Highway 50 near Stateline at Lake Tahoe in the early morning hours of Aug. 10, 2013 seeks help in locating the driver who fled the scene, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
Cody J. Dobson was walking on the highway, or may have stumbled from the adjacent sidewalk, just east of the MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa at approximately 3:13 am prior to being struck by a motor vehicle, said NHP Trooper Chuck Allen.
Witnesses to the event stated the vehicle that hit Dobson was possibly either a dark blue or dark green colored full size Dodge crew cab pickup. The lower portion of the pickup was also accented with silver or grey paint. Dobson was transported to Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe that morning prior to being airlifted to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno.
He died from his injuries nearly two weeks later on August 23rd while at Renown. Alcohol was a contributing factor in the event as Dobson’s blood alcohol concentration level was well over three times the legal limit when he was struck.
