Two 55-year-old twin brothers were arrested Wednesday at Mills Park on disorderly conduct charges after allegedly harassing people while drunk, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the park in the 1100 block of East William Street after a report of two intoxicated men sitting on benches near the playground yelling obscenities at citizens. A reporting witness said she was sitting in the park when the two brothers began calling her obscenities. She became scared and walked away after vulgar things were directed at her.
The arriving deputy noticed the two men sitting on a bench near the playground area and numerous children there with their parents. There were several beer cans on the table in front of them and each had a strong odor of alcohol emitting from them.
A deputy asked for identification of one of the men. The man became aggressive and began yelling at the officer, telling him to “f*** off” and to leave him and his brother alone. The man continued yell at the officer and then asked the deputy to show identification. He was placed into handcuffs by a sheriff’s office lieutenant due to his aggressive manner.
After the one brother was placed into cuffs, the other began using profanities directed at the officers. He was also placed into handcuffs. Both men were arrested at 12:32 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct. Bail $242 each.
In other arrests: A 20-year-old California man was arrested Wednesday, 1:57 p.m. in the 4200 block of South Carson Street on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched to a clothing store parking lot regarding a battery in progress. Officers made contact with the suspect and his father. The father said that while driving in the vehicle, his son became upset and told him he was coming down off of methamphetamine.
The father said he parked in the parking lot and exited the vehicle to avoid a confrontation. The father said he began to walk toward the clothing store to get away from his son. He said his son followed him and pushed him twice on the back.
A witness stated they also watched the son yell at the father, shake him and then push him into a parked vehicle. The 20-year-old was arrested. Bail: $3,137.
— A 22-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday, 7:37 p.m. in the 1700 block of Roop Street on a warrant for criminal contempt, issued June 2, 2015 out of Yerington. Bail: $1,140.
