Carson City deputies make multiple DUI and drug related arrests over the weekend

A 26-year-old Stateline man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine and other charges after a traffic stop in the 4000 block of South Curry Street, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, during a consensual stop at a parked car in a movie theater parking lot at 1:57 a.m., an officer asked the man, Daniel Louis Allen, for identification.

The man told the officer he didn’t have any ID on him. The officer asked for the man’s name, date of birth, which he gave and that came back from dispatch as having a gross misdemeanor warrant for his arrest out of Second Judicial District Court issued Oct. 15, 2014.

Allen was asked to exit the vehicle where he was detained. A K9 sniff of the vehicle came up with a positive alert. Officers discovered a baggie containing a small, testable amount of methamphetamine and a glass pipe inside. Bail: $8,637.

— A 34-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Sunday, 7:30 a.m. in the 600 block of College Parkway on a warrant for allegedly possessing a dangerous drug without a prescription, a gross misdemeanor. Bail: $5,000.

— A 48-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 9:21 p.m. in the 4000 block of Village Drive on suspicion of second offense domestic battery. According to the arrest report, officers arrested the woman after an argument turned violent with her daughter. The woman, who had been drinking, allegedly grabbed her daughter by the hair and pulled it, scratching her arms, kicking her legs and then punched her several times.

The victim had light bruises on her shins, a light bruise on her right shoulder and scratch marks on her left arm. The injuries were photographed. The suspect gave a preliminary breath sample of .340 and was taken to the hospital to be medically cleared before going to jail. A review of the woman’s criminal history showed a prior domestic battery conviction in April 2013. Bail: $5,137.

— A 46-year-old Heavener, Okla., woman was arrested Saturday, 11:20 p.m. in the area of Colorado and Roop streets on misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and being an intoxicated pedestrian. According to the arrest report, officers had detained the woman following a domestic battery call where the woman went to a home on Colorado Street and asked to use the phone. When the reporting witness refused to let the woman use the phone, the woman allegedly grabbed the witness by the hair and then left the residence leaving her purse and an open bottle of tequila behind. The woman refused to provide a preliminary breath sample to officers and was uncooperative throughout the event. She was taken to the hospital to be medically cleared and then taken to jail. Bail: $314.

— A 43-year-old Reno woman was arrested Saturday, 5:45 p.m. in the area of Second Street and Curry on suspicion of DUI drugs, first offense, driving without lighted lamps on a license plate, and obstruction of view. Bail: $1,281.

— A 25-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 7:49 a.m. in the 3200 block of Imperial Way on a misdemeanor warrant, contempt of court, issued Dec. 15, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500. A 34-year-old Carson City man was also arrested at the same location on charges of possession of marijuana and a failure to appear warrant issued Nov. 12, 2014 out of Tahoe Justice Court. Bail: $1,884.

— A 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 10:55 a.m. in the 1500 block of Stanford Drive on a misdemeanor warrant, failure to appear, issued Dec. 2, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court and obstructing officers. Bail: $1,647.

— A 31-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 2:15 a.m. in the 1900 block of North Carson Street on a misdemeanor warrant for contempt of court, issued Dec. 19, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. According to the arrest report, the woman was stopped in the area of Winnie Lane when officers observed that the green Chevy Suburban she was driving didn’t have working tail lights. Officers spoke with the woman. Dispatch advised she had a warrant. Bail: $215.

— A 21-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 2:25 a.m. in the 300 block of North Carson Street on suspicion of DUI and driving on a sidewalk. According to the arrest report, the woman was observed driving her vehicle through the parking lot of Fall and Telegraph streets, drove over the sidewalk, then went half way onto the roadway, stopped and then backed up and then drove back into the parking lot and stopped.

The driver exited the vehicle and began walking across Plaza Street. She was stumbling and appeared to be unsteady on her feet while walking, according to the arrest report. The officer stopped and met with the woman who appeared grossly intoxicated and had a strong odor of alcohol coming from her. The officer asked if she would submit to field sobriety tests. She was arrested. She submitted to two breath tests that showed her being over the legal limit. Bail: $1,249.

— A 26-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 11:06 p.m. in the area of South Carson Street and Koontz Lane on six misdemeanor charges: DUI, failure to maintain a lane, driving on a suspended license, intoxicated pedestrian, no proof of insurance and obstructing an officer. Officers were called to the area after a reporting witness observed a traffic accident where a sedan left Carson Street and struck a curb causing damage.

Officers arrived and found the woman outside the vehicle. She was asked how the accident occurred and the woman said she didn’t know. She had a strong odor of alcohol coming from her and nearly fell to the ground as officers spoke with her. She was asked to submit to field sobriety tests. While completing the DUI questionnaire she began addressing deputies with profanity and would not move out of the road. She was arrested and taken to jail. A search warrant was used to get a blood draw from the woman. Bail: $3,657.

— A 44-year-old San Juan Baptista, Calif., man was arrested Friday, 5:37 a.m. on Highway 50 at Spooner on suspicion of DUI and failure to maintain a single lane of traffic. According to the arrest report, officers were called to a traffic accident on Spooner. The reporting witness advised a vehicle was on the side of the road. Officers arrived at the scene and met with the driver who advised he had fallen asleep while driving and hit a cement barrier. This caused damage to the driver’s side and front of the vehicle, which was disabled.

The man displayed signs of being under the influence and was asked if he was taking any medication. He advised he was taking prescription Depakote. He told officers that he had not been using any street drugs for the last two years but then changed his story saying he relapsed and had not used street drugs for at least three days.
He submitted to field sobriety tests showing impairment on four tests. He was taken into dusty where he submitted to a blood test. Bail: $1,249.

— A 29-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday, 7:56 a.m. in the 1600 block of Brown Street on misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of a suspended sentence. According to the arrest report, officers were called to the area for a report of a woman throwing rocks at a vehicle. Officers arrived and met with two people. The woman’s ex-boyfriend said he did not want to press charges on the woman. A check through dispatch revealed the woman was on Alternative Sentencing with conditions not to have drugs and paraphernalia. The woman voluntarily stated she was in possession of a small meth pipe which was in her purse. Officers located a small glass meth pipe and a marijuana pipe. She was arrested Bail: $2,137.

— An 18-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday, 1:22 p.m. in the 1500 block of North Edmonds Drive on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of probation, issued Nov. 18, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000. A 19-year-old man was also arrested, on a warrant, contempt of court, issued Nov. 6, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers found a marijuana pipe in his possession at the time of arrest on the warrant. Bail: $1,452.

— A 33-year-old Carson City man, Michael Anthony Jacobs, was arrested Friday, 6:48 p.m. in the 3500 block of Highway 50 East on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance, two misdemeanor bench warrants for probation violation and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to the arrest report, officers observed three men pushing a shopping cart full of propane tanks near closed businesses.

The men explained they were using the shopping carts to transport the tanks to Save Mart for a refill. The officer conducted a wants and warrant check on the men that revealed Jacob had two warrants for his arrest. He was booked into jail where officers found a small baggie with a trace amount of methamphetamine and a “tooter” straw, commonly used to inhale drug fumes. Bail: $9,500.

— An 18-year-old Carson City man, Chase Patrick Morse, was arrested Friday, 8:18 p.m. in the 300 block of South Carson Street on a suspicion of felony parole and probation violation, driving without required lighted lamps and driving without a driver’s license in possession. According to the arrest report, officers stopped a blue Volkswagen sedan after discovering that its vehicle license plate light was not functioning. Officers checked the man for warrants and learned that he was not to be inside casinos as part of his probation conditions. Officers had observed the man inside a casino earlier and the man admitted that he had been at the casino. He’s on a no-bail hold pending a hearing for the probation violation.

— A 37-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 5:07 p.m. in the 400 block of East Park Street on a misdemeanor charge of being an ex-felon failing to register and a misdemeanor warrant for domestic battery issued Oct. 14, 2014 out of Dayton Township Justice Court. Bail: $832.

Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
