Carson City man faces felony home invasion charge

A Carson City man faces a felony charge of home invasion after kicking in the door of Hot Springs Road apartment and entering the home.
Jason Philip Curry, 24, was arrested Dec. 2 by Carson City authorities after he was found walking and intoxicated near the home several minutes after breaking into it.

According to the arrest report two deputies were dispatched to the 600 block of Hot Springs Road for a reported break-in.

The suspect, Curry, had allegedly kicked the front door of the apartment in at around 5 a.m. in and was immediately confronted by the resident of the apartment. The victim reported he saw the man clearly before he took off running, the arrest report states.

While officers were on the scene investigating a male matching the description of Curry walked by the apartment where the door was kicked in. The two deputies detained Curry, who appeared "very" intoxicated and smelled strongly of alcohol, the arrest report states.

The victim was able to see the man and made a positive identification on Curry who was arrested, the report states. At the jail he took a preliminary breath test where he blew a .190. He's being held on $25,000 bail.

In other arrests:

A Carson City man faces a gross misdemeanor charge of battery on an police officer and misdemeanor domestic battery and obstructing after fighting with his mother and brother and officers while intoxicated.
The 25-year-old unemployed man was arrested Nov. 30 in the 1600 block of Truckee Drive. According to the arrest report officers responded to the residence on a domestic battery report.

Upon arrival the mother of the man arrested said her son is on alternative sentencing and is not allowed to drink on a condition of his probation. She told her son he could live at home as long as he followed his probation and didn't drink, the arrest report states.

She advised officers that her son is violent and a different person when he is intoxicated. She said she arrived home work and found her son drunk. She and him got into an argument and she slapped her son in the face for being drunk as she was holding her drunk son's small child, the report states.
The drunk man's brother also informed him that he had to leave. The drunk man punched his brother twice in the face, kicked him and left the home. The brothers fought each other in the living room of the house, the report states.

While officers were speaking with the brother and mother about the incident, the drunk man knocked on the door. The officer observed the man was slurring his words, had red watery eyes and had "an overwhelming smell of alcohol" on his breath, the report states.

The officer asked him what happened and the man said he couldn't remember and then said "they all kicked my ass and I want them all arrested. " The officer asked what happened and the drunk man said "she punched me" and started yelling at his mother. When the officer told the man to calm down and stop yelling at his mother, the man said "f*** you, she punched me," the report states.

He was placed into handcuffs and submitted to a blood alcohol test where he blew a .239. He also tried to flee and was tackled to the ground by an officer. As he was being walked over to the patrol car he did a head and shoulder butt into one of the arresting officer's shoulder and left ear, the report states.
He was taken to jail. Bail set at $3,000.
