Carson City sheriff's arrest log: Two jailed on separate felony drug charges

A 27-year-old transient was arrested Wednesday in the 1600 block of Brown Street on felony and gross misdemeanor drug charges after allegedly having prescription pills he was dispensing to another person after having been released from jail, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Rex Killen, listed as a transient, was arrested on suspicion of felony transport and selling of drugs, a "blister" pack of 300 mg Seroquel, and dispensing of pharmaceutical drugs, a gross misdemeanor. He also faces a misdemeanor charge probation violation. Bail: $35,500.

In other arrests: A 26-year-old transient, Juan Garcia, was arrested Wednesday, 9:55 p.m. in the 2100 block of East William Street on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor trespass. According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to a restaurant in reference to a man who had locked himself inside a bathroom. The manager filled out a statement to make a citizens arrest of the man. Officers found a baggie with trace amounts of methamphetamine inside a backpack. Bail: $2,747.

— A 38-year-old Carson City man turned himself into Carson City Jail deputies at 2:08 p.m. Wednesday on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a suspended sentence, issued Feb. 24, 2015 from Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.

— A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 8:29 p.m. in the 1700 block of Newman Place on a misdemeanor charge of minor consuming alcohol.
According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to the area regarding an intoxicated man. Arriving officers met with the father of the suspect. The father told officers his son was outside the residence breaking lights at a neighbor’s residence. The man said he last saw his son running eastbound on Newman Place. Officers spoke with the neighbor who said he did not wish to press charges on the man.

It was learned the 20-year-old suspect was hiding in a nearby tree house. He was arrested for minor consuming and taken into custody where he blew a .215 preliminary breath test, the arrest report states. Bail: $242.

— A 64-year-old Silver Springs woman was arrested Wednesday, 9:02 p.m. at 1600 Medical Parkway on a misdemeanor charge of trespassing. According to the arrest report, officers were called to Carson Tahoe Hospital regarding a woman who didn’t have a medical problem and refused to leave.

On arrival officers met with security who advised the woman was brought in by Lyon County with an alleged medical problem. Once she was seen by nurses, she stated she had absolutely no medical problem and wanted to leave and didn’t know why the ambulance brought her to the hospital.

Staff released the woman. She then entered the emergency waiting area and was asking several people to take her back to Silver Springs. Security advised that she had to leave the property in which she promptly sat down and refused to leave. She began to raise her voice while speaking with security, disturbing several other people who were waiting to see a doctor, the arrest report states.

Officers met with the woman in the main entrance parking lot. The woman advised she didn’t have a medical problem and could not provide any contacts to come pick her up. The officer advised the woman that she needed to leave the property at the request of security or she would be arrested for trespassing. The woman began walking toward Medical Parkway and then turned around and walked back on to the property, sat down and refused to leave. Security requested she be arrested for trespassing. Bail: $334.

Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
