Two men were booked into Carson City jail Monday on felony warrant charges in unrelated cases, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Eduardo Juarez Leon, 45 of Carson City was jailed Monday, 9:28 a.m. on a felony warrant, battery with a deadly weapon, issued Nov. 25, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. His bail was set at $10,000.
Meanwhile, a 30-year-old Carson City man, John Raymond Gelien, turned himself into jail Monday for a felony failure to appear warrant, issued Nov. 30, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Gelien is being held without bail in lieu of a hearing.
In other arrests: A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 10:13 p.m at the boat ramp on Morgan Mill Road on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued Nov. 17, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $5,000.
— A 60-year-old Stagecoach man was arrested Monday, 8:44 p.m. on suspicion of DUI alcohol and drugs and failure to obey a traffic control device, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched to the area of East Long Street and Molly for a possible DUI. The driver was stopped for going through an intersection while the light was red. Officers made contact with the man who had an odor of alcoholic beverage.
The man told officer he has had balance issues from having brain cancer two years prior. He was asked if he had consumed any alcoholic beverages and the man said he had four beers at his home, according to the arrest report.
He submitted to a breath test with a result of .077. He also said he takes several medications, including valium and said he had taken two doses in the past eight hours with one dose within the hour. He was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs and alcohol. He submitted to a blood test at jail. Bail: $1,224.
— A 28-year-old homeless man was arrested Monday, 8:15 p.m. on a misdemeanor charge of probation violation after going to the sheriff’s office and saying that he drank eight beers, a violation of his probation.
The Department of Alternative Sentencing was contacted and an officer requested the man be taken into custody for the violation. He is on formal probation until Sept. 9, 2016 with conditions to obey all laws, no drinking, no drugs and no paraphernalia. Bail: $3,000.
— A 28-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Monday, 3:35 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a suspended sentence, issued July 7 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
