A 36-year-old Carson City man was jailed Saturday night, admitting to using a handgun to fire shots outside his Dori Way residence. Bladimir Belerra-Estrada faces a felony charge of possessing a firearm without proper citizenship status, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of discharging a firearm in a residential area.
According to the arrest report, officers were called to the Dori Way address shortly before 9:30 p.m. on a report of shots being fired. Officers met with the man who told them he had heard noises outside earlier in the event and so he shot his 22-caliber pistol three times to scare the people away. Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong noted the man shot at a tree.
Three shell casings were located in the area where the man stated he shot three rounds. An ICE hold request is being submitted to determine the man’s immigration status. Bail: $5,637.
In other arrests this weekend: A 26-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 4:30 a.m., on misdemeanor charges of failure to appear, a warrant issued June 13, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court, driving on a suspended license and no proof of insurance. She was stopped in the area of South Carson and Rhodes streets for failure to maintain a lane. She did admit to drinking earlier in the night but passed on all field sobriety tests. When officers ran her license through dispatch, they learned she had a warrant and was driving on a suspended license. Bail: $2,844.
— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 12:41 a.m. in the area of Highway 50 and Deer Run Road on suspicion of his second DUI, and battery that constitutes domestic violence. According to the arrest report, officers responded to the 1700 block of Maple Creek Drive on a report of a domestic battery in which witnesses said they saw the man push, throw down and then slap his girlfriend. The suspect was gone by the time officers arrived.
Deputies later stopped the vehicle after observing the man’s vehicle straddling the center of the roadway. The man had an odor of alcohol and agreed to participate in standardized field sobriety tests, with a preliminary breath test of .121 results. At jail and under the Nevada Implied Consent he blew a .122 and a .126.
He denied he battered, punched, grabbed and threw the woman down while at their residence. He refused to fill out a statement form. Bail: $5,861.
Meanwhile, a 35-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 12:07 a.m. in the 1700 block of Maple Creek on a gross misdemeanor charge of battery on a police officer.
According to the arrest report, the woman was the victim of the battery. She became uncooperative with officers after she refused to comply with them and denied a battery had happened. Officers feared for the woman’s safety, at that point and officers didn’t know if her boyfriend was still inside the home. The woman then became belligerent with officers, kicking one of them in the right leg, the arrest report states. She was charged with battery on on officer. She submitted to a BAC test with a .112.
— A 42-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 6:6 p.m. in the 1200 block of Beverly Drive on a misdemeanor charge of being in violation of a temporary protection order. Bail: The woman charged was allegedly yelling at her neighbor from a doorway, the neighbor who had the protection order on the woman. $1,000.
— A 44-year-old Carson City woman was a arrested Saturday, 10:59 a.m. in the 2300 block of Darla Way on a misdemeanor charge of violation of a protection order for protection against domestic violence. Bail: $3,000.
— A 27-year-old Carson City man turned himself into jail Saturday, 12:24 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant for violation of a suspended sentence. The warrant was issued June 3, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 8:34 a.m. in the 4700 block of South Carson Street on misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and a warrant for contempt of court. He was arrested after being served the warrant and voluntarily told officers he had a pipe and marijuana under his bed. Bail: $2,374.
— A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 4:07 p.m. in the 700 block of Hot Springs Road on misdemeanor warrant charges of violation of a suspended sentence, failure to provide proof of community service and petit larceny diversion group completion. The warrants were issued July 18, 2013 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $2,000.
— A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 2:06 p.m. in the 4000 block of Village drive on two warrants for violation of a suspended sentence, failure to report for color code testing. The warrants were issued Sept. 15, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $6,000.
— A 54-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 12:44 a.m. in the 1600 block of Airport Road on a gross misdemeanor charge of battery on a police officer and misdemeanor charges of violation of bail conditions and obstructing and resisting.
According to the arrest report, officers were called to the location on a report of a man and woman arguing. Officers spoke with the woman who said the man had spit in her face. She filled out a statement.
The man told officers the couple were arguing and the woman hit him. He refused to fill out a statement or give any further details. The man smelled of alcohol and a records check showed he was on Alternative sentencing with a “no alcohol” clause.
He refused several time to give a preliminary breath test. Eventually he said he would take the test but failed to blow adequately resulting in test error messages. Alternative Sentencing asked the man be arrested for bail condition violation. The man then complained the cuffs were too tight and said they cut into his wrist.
Another deputy attempted to administer first aid on the suspect’s wrist, when the man spit on the officer, according to the arrest report. The officer continued to administer first aid on the man and then took him to jail. He was booked for violation of bail conditions, obstructing and resisting and gross misdemeanor battery on a peace officer. Bail: $5,912.
— A 19-year-old Carson City man faces eight misdemeanor charges after being arrested Saturday, 1:37 p.m. in the 2800 block of Belaire Way. According to the arrest report, officers were attempting to locate a suspect in a fight that happened in the area of Menlo Way. Officers observed a white, older Camaro and a passenger inside who matched the description of the fight suspect. The vehicle left the scene and was traveling northbound on Airport Road. Officers ran the license plate which came back suspended. He initiated a traffic stop. Instead of stopping the driver started to speed away accelerating to 65 mph, while failing to yield to other vehicles.
On Bellaire Way the suspect driver made an unsafe sharp turn into a dirt driveway which turned out to be his parents residence, the arrest report states. Once out of the vehicle, the officer pulled the driver and passenger out of the vehicle and handcuffed them. Other deputies arrived. Once one of the suspects was in back of the patrol vehicle he voluntarily told officers that there was some “weed” in his right front pants pocket.
The officer recovered a small amount of marijuana. He then told officers there was a pipe in the center console of the vehicle, which was also recovered. He faces the following charges: Basic speed, driving without a valid license, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, reckless driving and driving on a suspended registration: Bail: $3,254.
— A 34-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 3:12 a.m. in the 100 block of Telegraph Street on a misdemeanor charge of battery. Officers responded to a bar in the location and observed the victim with a swollen lip. She was asked if she needed medical attention and the woman said she did not. She said she was struck in the mouth with a closed fist by the suspect. Officers located the suspect who refused to provide a breath sample. He was taken to jail. Bail: $1,137.

A 36-year-old Carson City man, Cesar Armando Alvarado, was arrested on three felony warrant charges and a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear after he was arrested Friday, 3:58 p.m. in the 1800 block of Alpine Street. The felony warrants were issued Sept. 12, 2014 out of Carson City District Court. The failure to appear warrant was issued July 17, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $30,815.
— A 52-year-old Reno man was arrested Friday, 11:34 p.m. in the 3700 block of South Carson Street on a misdemeanor charge of DUI, and speeding. Officers stopped the man on a motorcycle who was driving 48 mph in a posted 35 mph, the arrest report states. Officers detected alcohol coming from the man and asked if he would participate in field sobriety tests. During the test the officer observed six clues of possible impairment. He blew a preliminary breath test of a .095, above the legal limit and was arrested. Subsequent tests later after being read the Nevada Implied Consent came back with results of .072 and .077, the arrest report states.
— A 54-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 10:35 p.m. in the 4000 block of Pheasant Drive on a misdemeanor warrant charge, failure to appear, out of Reno Municipal Court. Bail: $1,500.
— A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 7:51 a.m. in the area of Arizona Circle on a misdemeanor warrant for violation of a suspended sentence issued Sept. 12, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.
Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
