A 46-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday on suspicion of felony domestic battery with strangulation and two misdemeanor warrant charges, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Monty Ludwig was arrested after being found by a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper. Bail was set at $16,241.
According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched at around 8 a.m. to the 400 block of Corbett Street for a report of domestic battery. On arrival officers met with the victim who said Ludwig had hit and choked her earlier that morning.
The woman had visible red markings around her neck and throat, the arrest report states. Dispatch advised the man had two confirmed warrants for contempt of court. Ludwig was located by NHP in the 400 block of East Park at 9:05 a.m. He was arrested on the felony charge of battery with strangulation and the two misdemeanor warrant charges. Bail: $16,241.
In other arrests: A 39-year-old Carson City man, Theodore Lee Sanchez Jr., was booked Monday. 11:30 a.m. into Carson City jail on felony warrant charges of trafficking and sales of a controlled substance. The warrants were issued Dec. 16, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $25,000.
— A 19-year-old Markleeville, Calif., woman was arrested Monday, 3:12 p.m. in the area of Meadowbrook and Brentwood streets on suspicion of domestic battery, a misdemeanor.
According to the arrest report, a couple had an argument while on the Carson City freeway. The man stated the woman wanted to get out of the vehicle. The man told the woman that he would find a safe street to pull over so she could get out of the car. The man advised that as he was trying to find a safe street, the woman bit him on the arm and scratched his face with her fingernails, the arrest report states.
The woman was arrested and told an officer that what she did was wrong and should not have bit her boyfriend and scratched him on the face. The victim, who did not want to press charges, said he was awaiting trial on a domestic battery charge in which he was arrested. Bail: $3,132.
— A 57-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday, 2:35 p.m. in the 1400 block of South Carson Street on suspicion of DUI drugs, failure to maintain a lane of traffic, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, all misdemeanor offenses.
According to the arrest report, an officer was dispatched to the area of Carson Street and College Parkway for a report of a DUI driver. The officer followed the suspect vehicle where it failed to maintain its traffic lane. The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver. Though he did not smell of alcohol, the officer states the woman was acting erratically. She submitted to standardized field sobriety tests and performed unsatisfactorily, the arrest report states. The woman gave the officer permission to for a K9 sniff of the vehicle which came back with a positive alert. The officer found two meth pipes and a small amount of marijuana. The woman was arrested, taken to jail and submitted to two samples of blood. Bail: $3,098.
— A 22-year-old Markleeville, Calif., man was booked Monday into Carson City Jail on two contempt of court warrants, both misdemeanors, issued Nov. 13, 2014 out of East Fork Township and Nov. 19 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $4,000.
— A 31-year-old Markleeville, Calif., woman was booked Monday into jail on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant, failure to appear, issued Oct. 15, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 21-year-old Reno man was booked into jail Monday, 11:30 a.m. on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued Dec. 22, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $740.
— A Carson City man, 21, was arrested Monday in the 100 block of Corbett Street on misdemeanor charges of petit larceny and breach of peace. Bail: $809. Another man, also 21, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of possession of stolen property, breach of peace and petit larceny. Bail: $1,581. According to the arrest report, the men allegedly stole merchandise, shirts and hooded sweatshirts, from a store in the 1900 block of North Carson Street. Video surveillance was booked into evidence.
— A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 12:20 a.m. in the area of Airport Road and Woodside on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued out of Sparks Municipal Court. Bail: $715.
— A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 3:40 p.m. in the area of Retail Drive and College Parkway on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a suspended sentence, issued Oct. 29, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 23-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 3:28 p.m. in the area of Imperial and Granite streets on suspicion of petit larceny and violation of Alternative Sentencing conditions. The woman was arrested after she allegedly stole merchandise from Walmart and ran out of the store, dropping her identification, according to the arrest report. She admitted to the theft and was on video surveillance. Bail: $852.
Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
