The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified two people who died this morning in a three-car accident on Highway 50 three miles east of Carson City.

Isolde Ann Taysom, 51, of Dayton and Scott W. Lamonda, 46, of Yerington died at the scene of the accident, reported at 6:36 a.m. in Mound House, according to the NHP.

Taken to Renown Medical Center by CareFlight were Paul WIles, 45, and Randy Menisini, 36. The two Yerington men, who were passengers in a GMC truck driven by Lamonda, are being treated for moderate injuries, according the NHP. The driver of a white Plymouth Neon passenger vehicle, Michelle R. Northway, 46, of Stagecoach, was not injured, according to the NHP.

For reasons yet to be determined, the Chevrolet HHR, driven by Taysom veered across the asphalt gore area and entered the westbound travel lanes. The left front of the Chevrolet HHR struck the left front of the red GMC pickup, driven by Lamonda. The red GMC pickup rotated into the #2 westbound travel lane and was struck by the white Plymouth Neon in a second collision. The red GMC pickup and the white Plymouth passenger car caught fire and were completely burned, according to the NHP.

The investigation is still underway and it has not been determined if alcohol or impairing drugs played a role in this accident. If anyone witnessed the accident or has pertinent information, they can contact the Major Accident Investigation Team at (775) 688-2500.
