Woman jailed for allegedly stealing truck from Smith's parking lot in Carson City

A 31-year-old woman was jailed Wednesday after allegedly stealing a 2005 Dodge truck with the keys left inside from the parking lot at Smith's in Carson City.

Kendra Ann Harkey of Reno is being held on $25,000 bail in the Carson City Jail. According to the arrest report, dispatch advised officers at 10:15 a.m. to be on the look out for the silver-colored truck with Nevada plates.

A Carson City sheriff's officer advised they had located the truck that matched the description parked in the lot of 1400 Rand Avenue. The truck was occupied by Harkey, according to the arrest report.

Officers ordered Harkey out of the vehicle at gun point and detained her without incident. She was later booked into the Carson City Jail for felony possession of stolen property.

The victim was taken to her vehicle from Smith's to 1400 Rand Ave. The victim stated she left the keys in the vehicle and did not know the woman.

In other arrests:

A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Thursday morning in the 3200 block of Imperial Way. He faces a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest for failure to appear in court.

According to the arrest report, officers went to the residence at 1:30 a.m. on a call for a loud party with minors consuming alcohol.

Officers made contact with the 20-year-old man who informed them that he was the renter of the unit.
A warrant check was done on him where he was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Beatty Township in Nye County for $599 cash-only bond. The warrant was issued July 8, 2013. Bail: $599.
