A report late Thursday night of shots fired in the area of Cherry Creek Apartments led to the arrest of a 19-year-old Carson City man on unrelated charges.

Ezekial O'Kelley was arrested and faces a felony drug charge and a gross misdemeanor charge of possession of burglary tools. A 20-year-old woman with him also faces a charge of being a minor consuming alcohol. The arrests were unrelated to the shots fired call, authorities said.

According to the arrest report, officers responded to the 3300 block of South Carson Street regarding a report of shots fired in the area. During the investigation, officers detained several subjects. Dispatched advised officers that O'Kelley had a confirmed arrest warrant dated March 11, 2013. He was arrested based on the warrant. While searching O'Kelley, officers found a small black piece of metal with his wallet inside his pocket. The man told officers it was a Honda key, though it resembled a lock pick, the arrest report states.

The man and the 20-year-old woman both smelled strongly of alcohol and both admitted to drinking. They both provided preliminary breath tests with results of .140 for him and .183 for the woman, the arrest report states.

Officers also found a small tin on the ground next to the man containing methamphetamine, the arrest report states. After he was read his Miranda Rights, he agreed to speak with officers. O'Kelley swore to officers he never had or used meth and also denied having ever possessed the tin of methamphetamine, the report states. He also told officers he got the "lock pick" because his "gangster friend named Snoop" from California gave it to him, he was quoted as telling the officers.

O'Kelley told officers that Snoop was his marijuana dealer and that Snoop last stole a Honda about a month prior, but that he wasn't involved. According to the arrest report, he could not explain to officers why he kept a tool used for stealing cars, but did say he knows what it is used for.

He was arrested and faces a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor charge of possession of burglary tools. He also faces misdemeanor charges of being in contempt of court and minor consuming. Bail: $5,484.
