Served warrants lead to string of arrests in Carson City for felony-related crimes

A 20-year-old Carson City man was jailed Tuesday and faces statutory sexual seduction and failure to appear charges. Jose Alberto Garcia-Perez was booked into the Carson City Jail after being transported by law officials in Las Vegas.

A warrant was issued for the statutory sexual seduction charge, a gross misdemeanor, on April 5 out of Carson City Justice Court while the failure to appear warrant was issued June 24. He is being held without bail on the failure to appear charge, and $5,000 bail for the other charge.
In other arrests:

— A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday on a felony grand larceny warrant. Michael Christopher Newton was booked in the Carson City Jail on the warrant where he was brought into jail by Washoe County authorities. He is being held on $5,000 bail. The warrant was issued April 5th 2013 out of Carson City Justice Court.

— A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 6:05 p.m. at 20 College Parkway by Carson City authorities. Matthew James Golden was wanted by U.S. Army authorities for being absence without official leave, otherwise known as AWOL.
He was arrested as was a 19-year-old friend at the residence who was in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal contempt.

— A 24-year-old Carson City woman, Rhiannon Rae White, faces a felony drug charge after being arrested June 22, in the 200 block of Hackamore Way.
Officers were called to a residence involving a disturbance. The woman was at the home to retrieve property from her ex-boyfriend, according to the arrest report.
A check through dispatch revealed the woman was on alternative sentencing with a no drugs and no alcohol clause.

Officers searched the vehicle she was a passenger in and found beer, an opened container of Bud Lime, and several bottles of Corona inside a cooler. Also found was a pill bottle with her name imprinted on it. Inside the bottle were two Alpazolam tablets and a greenish/blue pill with a Transformer logo imprinted on it. Ecstasy is commonly known for its various logos. Officers tested the pill and it came up positive for amphetamine. Bail: $5,500.

— A man already in custody at the Carson City jail with local charges pending faces a felony charge of being a fugitive from justice. Rafael Valdez, 28, is being held without bail for the charge out of district court in Denver, Colo. The charge came to the Carson City Sheriff's Office on Monday.

_ A 24-year-old Dayton man was arrested June 24, 5:36 p.m. in the 400 block of Saliman on two misdemeanor failure to appear warrants for his arrest. Bail: $1,134.

— A 24-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested Monday 3:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Stewart Street. The man had a warrant for his arrest for being in violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $1,000.

— A 25-year-old Reno man was booked into Carson City Jail Monday, 11:32 a.m. and faces a misdemeanor failure to appear for traffic court charge. Bail: $292.

— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested June 22, 9:10 a.m. at Fifth and Country Village. He faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident, failure to maintain lanes, using a cell phone while driving.
The driver hit a power pole on Fifth an Allouette Way, causing a power outage. He attempted to flee the scene but was stopped from the scene of the accident. Bail: $983.

- Those arrested and facing charges are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
