Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies responded to numerous fights on Thursday that resulted in misdemeanor arrests for assault and domestic battery charges. Among the arrests:
A 41-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday in the 3400 block of Imperial Way. She was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery and resisting after allegedly punching her husband.
According to the arrest report, officers patrolling the area saw an interaction between a man and woman in front of a vehicle parked in the residence driveway. The officer observed the woman hit the man on his chest and right arm area. He activated his overhead lights and approached the couple at which time he heard a loud argument between the two as the woman hit the man one more time in the chest and turned around and walked toward the home where she saw the officer approaching, according to the arrest report.
Officer spoke with the two. The woman was asked what she was doing, and she replied "nothing." and began to walk away from the officer. He ordered both to remain on the scene and another deputy was asked to respond.
The woman started to force her way away from the officer who then put her right hand in a handcuff. The woman then turned to start to walk toward the home where several people inside came out and began to yell profanities at the deputies, the arrest report states.
As officers ordered the crowd back inside, a white van arrived and several other people got out running toward the deputies. Officers saw several young people walking several dogs begin to run at the officers. At this time the woman was secured in handcuffs and officers ordered the crowd of about 10 people to stand back while other deputies arrived on scene, the arrest report states.
Once the woman was placed in the vehicle, the woman's mother advised that her wrist was hurt. A deputy advised that the woman may have received injuries from the crowd who were pushing toward the officers. A medic was called for the injury. The 41-year-old woman was taken to jail. She faces charges of domestic battery and resisting arrest: Bail: $3,874.
— A 40-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 1100 block of East William Street at 12:09 p.m. Thursday. He faces misdemeanor charges of battery and violation of a suspended sentence.
According to the arrest report officers were dispatched to Mills Park in reference to a possible battery that took place earlier at a casino. Dispatch advised the reporting party was following the suspect.
Officers detained the man and asked him what happened at the casino. The man stated that he punched another man for talking bad about his kids. A deputy responded to the casino and had the victim respond to the location for identification. The victim identified the man as the one who punched him in the nose and filled out a statement and citizens arrest form.
The victim advised his mouth was numb and he was going to the doctor to see what kind of damage was done to his face area. The suspect was placed into custody for battery and violation of a suspended sentence. The casino provided surveillance video of the battery from the security office. Bail: $2,137.
— A 23-year-old Carson City man faces three misdemeanor charges including battery constituting domestic violence, simple battery on a victim and disorderly conduct. He was arrested Thursday, 10:44 p.m. near North Carson Street and East Telegraph.
According to the arrest report, officers patrolling the area saw the man fighting with another man on the sidewalk. The officer saw the suspect pick up the victim and slam him on the sidewalk, then got on top of him and repeatedly punched the victim until he passed out. The fight was witnessed by three people who saw how it started. Officers exited the vehicle and pointed a taser at the suspect, ordering him to stop fighting and get on the ground. The man complied and was detained.
Upon investigation, it was learned from the victim and three eyewitnesses that the suspect was arguing with his girlfriend and battered her by pushing her backward. The male victim came to the aid of the woman, who tried to stop further battering, which resulted in the suspect beating the man until he was unconscious, the arrest report states.
The suspect was advised of his Miranda rights and denied that he had done anything wrong. He then became belligerent with other deputies and screamed at the officers, making racial remarks about the arresting officer's Asian ethnicity, the arrest report states. Bail: $4,516.
— A 26-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday, 4:07 p.m. in the 1200 block of East 5th Street. She faces a misdemeanor charge of being in violation of alternative sentencing. According to the arrest report, officers arrived at the location for a domestic dispute. On arrival officers spoke with the the mother of the suspect who stated her daughter had been drinking and causing problems in the house, including throwing things around. The mother advised the daughter was on alternative sentencing with a no alcohol clause.
Officers spoke with the suspect who was grossly intoxicated and she said she needed to drink because she always drinks on the holidays. The suspect confirmed her mother's statements and the woman submitted to a preliminary breath test with a result of .217, the arrest report states. She was taken to jail for the violation of terms. Bail: $3,000.
— A 42-year-old Carson City man was booked into Carson City Jail early Friday morning, 12:12 a.m. on a failure to appear warrant.
Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
