The following is a summary of some of the arrests made by the Carson City Sheriff's deputies, March 6-8.
March 6
A 31-year-old Reno man was arrested at a Carson City tavern where security said they found him in the parking lot with a shot gun and apparently brandished it in front of patrons. Deputies arrived were called to the tavern and met with security. Security advised that when the patron from the bar arrived, a witness said the man "racked a black pump shotgun" and asked the witness if he wanted "to hear the scariest sound in the world?" according to the arrest report.
The man informed officers that he had purchased the shotgun Saturday in Reno. While waiting to speak with the reporting party, the suspect began yelling obscenities and interfering with the officer. The man was placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct. His bail was set at $632.
March 7
Responding to a fight in progress, an unemployed Gardnerville man was arrested by Carson City Sheriff's deputies on a third offense DUI, warrant.
The warrant was issued by East Township Justice Court on March 5 in the amount of $10,000. The man was arrested after deputies responded to Brown Street in Carson City in reference to a fight. A white male adult was observed leaving the scene of the fight and entered an apartment. Deputies met with the parties, where witnesses said the men fighting were just "messing around." Deputies question the suspect, found him to be uncooperative with details of the fight incident, and arrested him after learning about the outstanding warrant.
March 7
A 41-year-old Carson City woman was arrested at a College Parkway apartment building on child abuse charges. The mother allegedly began hitting one of her children with a belt on the legs and thighs. The minor told officers that her mom had been off of her medication for about a month. The report states that the mother kicked her daughter twice in the side and on the thigh and then punched her in the mouth. The officer observed a bleeding cut lip consistent with being hit in the mouth, according to the officer's report. The mother was arrested with bail set at $2,500 on gross misdeameanor child abuse charges.
March 8
A Carson City woman, 36, was arrested for suspicion of DUI and child enegangerment on March 8 near Tuscarora Way in Carson City. According to a sheriff's report, the boyfriend of the woman called dispatchers to report that his girlfriend had left the residence driving extremely intoxicated with their four-year-old daughter in their car.
Officers pulled the woman over and observed the child in the car, without a seat belt on. The woman also exhibited an odor of alcohol, according to the report. The woman agreed to a sobriety test and blew a .192 on the premilinary breath test. The legal limit is .08. She was booked for DUI and child endangerment. Her bail was set at $3,632.
