Carson City Sheriff's deputies arrested Robert Andrew Meinen, 36, Saturday night in the 2300 block of Marian Avenue after he allegedly pointed a loaded shotgun at two neighbors and threatened to shoot them.
According to the arrest report, witnesses said Meinen came out of his home and threatened two shoot one neighbor, who identified himself as an off-duty peace officer. He then threatened another neighbor, who came back out with his own shotgun and disarmed and detained Meinen until officers arrived. Meinen was reported as appearing very intoxicated, yelling and screaming, being very belligerent and smelling strongly of alcohol.
Meinen's wife reported that she tried to stop her husband from leaving the house with the loaded shotgun, but that he battered her, throwing her against the front door and then to the floor. The suspect's son and daughter reported witnessing this battery.
Meinen was arrested for two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon, two gross misdemeanor counts of aiming a firearm at another person, misdemeanor possession of a firearm while intoxicated, and misdemeanor battery constituting domestic violence. He bail was set at $20,000.

Another arrest made over the weekend, deputies arrested Nina Montalbano, 25, early Monday morning near the intersection of Carmine and Airport Road for felony possession of heroin.
According to the arrest report, deputies were talking with a pedestrian when Montalbano pulled up in a car and offered her a ride home. A deputy asked Montalbano if drug-sniffing dog they had on the scene could check out the car, and she allegedly consented. The dog signaled that there was something in the suspect's purse, which turned out to be some tin foil with black residue on it that tested positive for heroin.
Montalbano was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor driving on a suspended license. Her bail was set at $4,364.
