A Hawthorne, Nev. man was arrested Thursday at a Carson City casino on a felony parole and probation hold in 400 block of North Carson Street.
Clarence Jones, 30, was arrested after officers were asked to do a walkthrough of the casino because of unruly customers. On arrival the officer saw Jones, who was standing near the problem group, but was not involved with them, the arrest report states.
Jones was gaming on a machine and didn't have identification on him, according to the arrest report. With information Jones provided it was confirmed through dispatch that he was on parole and probation and that the agency had an active hold on him, advising that he should be taken into custody, according to the arrest report.
In other felony-related arrests:
A 46-year-old Carson City man, John Daniel Christy, was arrested Thursday in the 2000 block of East William Street. He faces a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance and five misdemeanor charges including driving on a revoked license for DUI.
According to the arrest report, officers conducted a registration check on a vehicle driving westbound on William Street. The vehicle registration returned expired as of Dec. 17, 2013. A deputy conducted a traffic stop at William across from a casino and made contact with Christy, who informed him that he did not have a valid driver's license. A check through dispatch advised that his license was revoked for DUI. He also had no proof of insurance.
The officer inventoried the vehicle and in the center console found a black pouch that contained a white glass tube with a bulb end. Inside of the man's black work gloves was a small plastic baggie believed to be methamphetamine, as well as marijuana inside the gloves. He was arrested and his vehicle towed. Bail: $6,320.
In misdemeanor-related arrests:
— A 38-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, Dec. 26, 10:50 p.m. in the 1400 block of North Edmonds. He faces a misdemeanor charge of suspicion of being in violation of a suspended sentence.
According to the arrest report, officers were called to a residence regarding a domestic dispute in progress. Dispatch advised that a man was fighting with his neighbors.
The arresting officers could hear a group of male voices arguing in front of the residence when he arrived. The officer heard one man say that he was going to "give him another one" the arrest report states.
The officer approached the group and shine his flashlight on the subjects, ordering them to sit on a curb nearby. The subjects followed directions while the officer spoke with the man subsequently arrested. He had blood coming from his forehead. He was asked if he needed any medical attention and he advised he did not, the arrest report states.
The man told the officer that the other subjects "beat him up." He was asked if he wanted to press charges and he said he didn't, the arrest report states. The man was run through a dispatch check that showed an arrest warrant issued for violation of a suspended sentence, issued through Carson City Justice Court. He was taken into custody.
The officer spoke with a female subject involved with the suspect. She confirmed she had an argument with him, that it was verbal and that he did not batter her, the arrest report states. The woman advised that her neighbors came to her aid and the suspect was battered.
The 38-year-old man was taken to the hospital and medically cleared and was given a preliminary breath test in which he blew a .159. He faces a misdemeanor charge of being in violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $3,000.
— A 36-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday, Dec. 26, 6:07 p.m. in the 100 block of Corbett. She faces a misdemeanor charge of being in violation of pre-trail conditions. Officers were called to the residence regarding a verbal domestic dispute.
While at the apartments a deputy informed that there may be a gun inside the apartment. The officer knocked on the door several times without an answer. Later the door opened with the suspect allowing officers into the apartment. she had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath and beer cans were scattered around the apartment, the arrest report states. The woman took a preliminary breath test with a result of a .139, the report states.
Dispatch advised Alternative Sentencing on the called and the woman, on Alternative Sentencing, was arrested for being in violation of pre-trial conditions due to the results of the preliminary breath test. Bail: $3,000.
— A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested Dec. 25, 1:15 p.m. in the 600 block of Hot Springs Road. He faces a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.
According to the arrest report officers responded to the residence and heard a woman scream "get away from me" as officers walked toward the apartment. When the officer reached the front door, they could still hear the female screaming. The officers entered the residence on saw the woman on the ground facing the the ceiling while the man was standing over her, the report states.
The man advised he and his girlfriend were having a verbal argument. Deputies spoke with the woman who stated the man grabbed her right arm and drug her out of the apartment. Once outside the apartment, the woman said the man pushed her to the ground. She had scrapes on her upper right shoulder, arms and chest, the arrest report states.
The man was determined to be the primary aggressor and was booked into custody for domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
