A 31-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday, 12:55 a.m. in the area of Joshua and Kennedy streets on suspicion of DUI and child endangerment charges, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, officers observed a vehicle pulled over, come to a stop, make a u-turn and then go through a stop sign. The officer made contact with the driver who had three young children in the vehicle, ages 2, 8 and 11, and explained the reason for the traffic stop. The woman told the officer she was having some issues with the children but that everything was OK.
She stated she was going home to a Marian Street address. As the woman was speaking, the officer could smell an odor of alcohol from her breath. The woman admitted to consuming a pint of vodka recently, the arrest report states.
She submitted to field sobriety testing, and did not satisfactorily complete the testing. She submitted to a preliminary breath test with a result of .12. She was placed into custody. She was charged with DUI alcohol, a misdemeanor, child endangerment, a gross misdemeanor, and probation violation from Alternative Sentencing. Bail: $6,637.
— A 36-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday, 12:10 a.m. in the 3700 block of North Carson Street on a misdemeanor charge, probation violation. According to the arrest report, officers observed the woman, who is on probation, leaving a convenience store and walked to her vehicle. The woman had a strong odor of alcohol on her. She was asked if she had been drinking and the woman replied she had not. Dispatch advised she was on Alternative Sentencing with a “no alcohol” clause. She provided a preliminary breath test with a result of .132. She was booked for the probation violation without incident. Bail: $3,000.
— A 41-year-old Carson City woman, Myra Lynn Robertson, was arrested Sunday, 9:13 a.m. on a felony charge of giving an officer false identification to avoid prosecution, and two misdemeanor warrants: violation of a suspended sentence, and contempt of court. Bail: $8,500.
— A 24-year-old Carson City man, Jac Owen, was booked Sunday, 3 p.m. into Carson City Jail on a felony warrant, issued Oct. 10, 2014, alleging attempted burglary and a misdemeanor warrant for contempt of court, issued Oct. 29, 2014. The warrants were issued out of Carson City Justice Court. He is being held without bail on the felony warrant charge. Bail for the contempt of court charge, $500.
— Two were arrested Sunday in the 1800 block of Fairview Drive after a single vehicle accident that happened on Fairview near Fifth Street. According to the arrest report, officers met with a 32-year-old Carson City man and 29-year-old Reno woman. The man told officers that he was driving the vehicle when a rabbit came across the road causing him to swerve. He stated he left the roadway and went into a field of sagebrush. Officers observed the vehicle’s airbags had been deployed but without physical damage to the vehicle.
According to the arrest report, the man was unsteady on his feet and was not making sense when speaking with officers. He showed signs of impairment on several field sobriety tests and was unable to stand without leaning. The man had green residue on his tongue, a sign of marijuana use. He was given a preliminary breath test with results of .000, the arrest report states.
Because the man was unable to perform the standardized sobriety tests and being unsteady on his feet, he was taken into custody and a blood test was administered. Bail: $1,137.
A records check showed the woman had a confirmed warrant for her arrest. She was placed into custody and taken to Carson City Jail. While transporting, officers observed the odor of marijuana on the woman.
The officers asked her if she had any marijuana on her, which she denied, the arrest report states. Once at jail an officer opened the rear door allowing the woman to exit. The officer observed a greenish case on the floor board that appeared to be broken into two pieces.
The officer retrieved it and learned the two pieces were in fact the top and bottom of a rubberized case. Inside the case was a gelatin type form of hashish. The substance had a strong odor of marijuana emitting from it. The woman told the officer the case was not hers. The officer told her the case was not in the car prior to her getting in. The woman then admitted to discarding the case, hoping not to get caught with it, the arrest report states. She faces charges based on the contempt of court warrant and possession of marijuana. Bail: $1,167.
— A 39-year-old transient woman was arrested Sunday, 9:34 a.m. in the area of Sedge and South Deer Run Road on suspicion of second offense domestic battery. According to the arrest report, officers were called to the location and made contact with a man who advised that he and his girlfriend had been in an argument regarding sleeping inside a truck, in which he was trying to get his girlfriend to do, instead of sleeping outside. During the argument, the woman allegedly burned him with a cigarette near his eye. Officers observed a burn mark near the man’s right eye consistent with that of a cigarette.
Officers spoke with the woman who said the man grabbed onto her arm and was trying to get her into the truck. She told officers that she used the cigarette to burn his face. Bail: $5,132.
— A 22-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Sunday, 11:53 a.m. on a warrant charge, criminal contempt, issued August 15, 2012 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.
— A 29-year-old Reno man was booked into jail Sunday, 11:50 a.m. on a warrant, contempt of court, issued June 10, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $855.
