A Carson City man faces several charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, following an incident early Saturday morning where he allegedly held a piece of glass to the neck of a victim.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to a domestic dispute in progress at around 4 a.m. Saturday morning. The person reporting the crime told dispatchers they would be waiting in a blue Dodge Durango.
As deputies arrived, they pulled into the parking lot in the 3300 block of South Carson Street and turned their lots off for safety reasons, according to the arrest report. The 20-year-old suspect, Alexander Rose, approached the Durango and then, upon seeing the patrol vehicle, took off running toward some apartments, according to the arrest report. Deputies got out of the patrol car and announced their presence, telling Rose to stop as they chased him. The man continued running up the stairs to an apartment and attempted to get inside as the deputies approached him, according to the arrest report.
A deputy escorted Rose to the bottom of the stairs and then met with the subjects inside the Dodge Durango, one of which was the victim. A woman told officers that she was babysitting her nieces at a friend's home while her female friend was out. Suspect Rose is the husband of the female friend. When Rose came to the home, he demanded the victim tell him where his wife was, according to the arrest report. The suspect then allegedly smashed a glass picture and picked up a piece of glass and threatened a man who was also inside the home. According to the report the suspect held the broken glass to the victim's neck and face.
The victim told deputies he was afraid the suspect was going to cut him with the glass, according to the arrest report.
Because of the circumstances, Rose was arrested and faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon, obstructing an officer and being a minor consuming alcohol, according to the arrest report. His bail has been set at $20,644.
