A Mill Valley, Calif., man was arrested at 3:03 a.m. Sunday at East Musser at Carson Street on suspicion of DUI, speeding and driving with a suspended or revoked license, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
The vehicle was stopped after being clocked going 50 mph in a 35 and 48 mph in a 25 mph zone, according to the arrest report. The driver was contacted where he identified himself with a California driver’s license that came back suspended.
He emitted a strong odor of alcohol and officers asked for him to perform standardized field sobriety tests which he agreed. He submitted to a preliminary breath test that registered over .08. He was taken to jail and became argumentative with officers, refusing to do any other type of alcohol impairment test. A telephonic search warrant was granted by a Carson City judge and a blood draw was administered. Bail: $1,931.
— A Carson City man, Scott David Bruce, was arrested Sunday, 1:56 a.m. in the 1800 block of North Carson Street on a felony parole and probation violation. Officers responded to the area in reference to a fight. Bruce had been fighting with his brother and both had refused to pursue charges against each other. Officers asked Scott if he had been drinking. He replied he had two drinks. A parole officer advised to arrest him for probation violation. He is being held without bail pending a hearing.
— A 60-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 9:51 p.m. in the 3400 block of Baker Street on suspicion of DUI. Bail: $1,137
— A 19-year-old Gardnerville woman was booked into Carson City jail Saturday, 7 p.m. on a failure to appear traffic warrant issued Dec. 3, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $250.
— A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 4:40 p.m. in the 3200 block of Market Street on suspicion of petit larceny. According to the arrest report, the man allegedly walked into the Walmart store on Friday, grabbed an empty bag from the front register area and took multiple video games, placing them in the bag and then walking out of the store without paying. Officers were provided video of the incident.
Then on Saturday, officers arrested the same man on suspicion of larceny at Kohl’s. Bail: $352.
— A 29-year-old Carson City man turned himself into Carson City jail deputies Saturday, 11:16 a.m. on a misdemeanor battery warrant issued Dec. 9, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.
— A 25-year-old South Lake Tahoe man was arrested Saturday, 8:23 a.m. in the 4300 block of South Carson Street on misdemeanor charges of destruction of property and trespassing. The man allegedly broke a door sign on his way out of a casino when he was told to leave. Bail: $864.
— A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 9:21 a.m. in the 300 block of Nye Lane on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $1,000.
— A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 12:02 a.m. in the area of Menlo and Green Court on misdemeanor DUI charges and failure to maintain a traffic lane.
According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to an injury accident at Menlo and Greet Court. Upon arrival officers observed a red Chevy truck in the middle of the road with substantial damage. The truck was leaking fluid and there was smoke coming from the engine area. There was a female trapped in the passenger side of the truck and a male at the driver’s side of the door, the arrest report states.
Another vehicle, a Ford SUV, was pushed onto the sidewalk. That vehicle was unoccupied and had been parked on the sidewalk facing east.
The male said he was the driver of the red truck. He said he was not injured but was worried about the female passenger. The Carson City Fire Department arrived on scene and extracted the woman from the vehicle. She was sent by Care Flight to Renown Medical Center.
Officers asked the 26-year-old man if he was hurt and he said he was not. While speaking with an officer he emitted an odor of alcohol. He said he had three drinks that night. His eyes were red and watery and his speech was thick and slurred, according to the arrest report. He was having a hard time answering some questions.
Officers again asked if he hit his head or was injured. He said he didn’t hit his head and was not hurt. He submitted to field sobriety tests which indicated impairment. When asked about substances in a field interview, he admitted to using methamphetamine 48 hours prior. He submitted to a preliminary breath test that resulted a .137. He was arrested for DUI and taken to jail. He was read the Nevada Implied Consent where he chose a blood draw. He was booked into jail on suspicion of DUI and failure to maintain a lane of traffic. Bail: $1,224.
— A 32-year-old Virginia City woman was booked Friday, Dec. 12, 5:11 p.m. into Carson City jail on a violation of conditions warrant issued Nov. 24, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 40-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 7:56 p.m. in the 1400 block of Rand Avenue on two misdemeanor failure to appear traffic warrants issued out of Reno Township Court. Bail: $686.
— A 52-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 2:53 p.m. in the 3600 block of Goni Road on a misdemeanor charge of battery. According to the arrest report, officers were called to a casino and met with the victim, an employee. She stated that a man was in the casino gambling. She was cashing a drawer out when she heard her name. She stated she came out from the cashier’s area to see what was going on when the man came at her face with something in his hand and yelling “you Nazi bitch.”
The woman stated she was able to block the man from hitting her in the face. She said he then threw something with a swastika in her face. The officer asked the woman what she wanted to have happen with the man. She said she wanted to press charges against him and then filled out an arrest form.
Dispatch was able to find information on the man that showed he was an ex-felon and was listed living at a home in the 400 block of South Sutro Terrace. An officer proceeded to the location and made contact with the man. He was asked if he had been at the casino earlier in the day. The man said he had. The officer asked him what happened with a cashier and he told the officer that he called her a nazi and gave her an arm band swastika by setting it on the counter.
The officer told the man he had gotten a different story from the woman. The man then told the officer that he threw the armband at the woman. The man was taken into custody for battery. He was taken to jail without incident. Bail: $1,137.
— A 52-year-old Carson City man, Scott Gerard Shadden, turned himself into jail Friday, 12:55 p.m. on a felony warrant, possession of a controlled substance, issued Dec. 2, 2014 out of First Judicial District Court. Bail: $735.
— A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 2:12 p.m. in the 1200 block of East Fifth Street on a misdemeanor warrant, alternative sentencing violation, issued Nov. 14, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.
— A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 12:53 p.m. in the 3500 block of Highway 50 East on six misdemeanor charges: driving on a suspended license, tailgate lamp violation, possession of drug paraphernalia, no proof of insurance, being an ex-felon failing to register and possession of marijuana. Bail: $3,557.
— A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 11:37 a.m. on a misdemeanor warrant issued Oct. 3, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail $3,000.
— A 58-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 7:10 a.m. in the 500 block of North Stewart Street on suspicion of trespassing. $242.
— A 51-year-old transient was booked into Carson City jail Dec. 11, 6:39 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant, failure to appear, issued Dec. 9, 2014 out of Walker River Justice Court. Bail: $2,520.
— A 19-year-old Gardnerville man was booked into Carson City Jail Dec. 7, 11:30 a.m. on two misdemeanor contempt of court warrants for his arrest. The warrants were issued Dec. 3, 2014 and Oct. 29, 2014. Bail: $4,000.
Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
