A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday on felony drug charges, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said. Troy Lee Lindsey was booked on the felony charges after officers found two baggies of suspected methamphetamine in the man’s shoe.
According to the arrest report, a Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team officer observed the man make a sudden turn on North Roop Street to East Washington at 9:26 p.m., nearly causing a collision between himself and another vehicle.
The officer told the man the reason for the traffic stop and observed the man had red eyes and smelled moderately of alcohol.
The man was unable to produce proof of insurance. The officer asked how much the man had to drink and the man said he didn’t have anything to drink. Officers ran the man’s license through dispatch where he was on Alternative Sentencing with a search and seizure clause for drugs and alcohol.
The man agreed to a preliminary breath test which came back with a .03. During jail booking the man was searched where officers found two baggies of suspected methamphetamine in his right shoe.
One of the baggies appeared to contain two separate baggies. The total amount contained about 1 gram, a street value of $100. He was booked on two felony charges: possession of a controlled substance and intent to sell; and three misdemeanor charges: failure to yield, no proof of insurance and violation of pretrial supervision. Bail: $11,349.
In other arrests:
— A 50-year-old Carson City man, Steven Eric Alumbaugh, was arrested Wednesday, 4:35 p.m. at North Fall and East Long streets on a felony charge of probation violation. Officers stopped a vehicle in which he was a passenger after the vehicle evaded police, according to the arrest report. The man was on Parole and Probation, prohibiting drugs and alcohol. He agreed to a breath test which came back as positive with a .02 and was arrested for the violation.
— A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 3:08 a.m. in the 1200 block of Woodside Drive on a misdemeanor warrant issued July 25, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.
— A 49-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday, 2:22 a.m. in the 500 block of North Carson Street on a misdemeanor warrant for violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $3,000.
— A 38-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 1:03 a.m. in the 800 block of Colorado Street on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.
According to the arrest report the man allegedly became physically violent with his wife when she asked him to leave. Officers observed swelling and bruising to the woman’s left eye and bruise marks to her right arm. Bail: $3,137.
— A 19-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday, 6:17 p.m. in the 2100 block of East William Street on a misdemeanor charge of larceny. The woman allegedly stole a shirt and sweatshirt from a store in the 3800 block of South Carson Street. Bail: $352.
— A 24-year-old man was booked Wednesday into Carson City Jail on misdemeanor warrant charge of violation of a protection order. Bail: $3,000.
— A 41-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 6:35 p.m. in the 500 block of Sonoma Street on a gross misdemeanor warrant charge issued out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $5,000.
Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
