Carson City man arrested after failing to complete domestic violence classes

A Carson City man was arrested after he allegedly failed to complete domestic violence counseling, a felony violation of his probation.

Officers arrested John Adam Henry, 29, after running his registration through the DMV that generated a hit at around 1 p.m. on Thursday. He was stopped at the corner of Northridge Drive near Southridge Road, according to the arrest report.

According to New River Justice Court records, a no-bail felony warrant for Henry's arrest was issued after he failed to complete court-ordered domestic violence counseling. He was booked without incident.

In other matters:

A Carson City couple each face misdemeanor charges including driving under the influence, domestic battery and possession of marijuana.
According to the arrest report, a patrol officer observed a parked vehicle with its parking lights on and door opened in the 1700 block of Highway 50 East.

Officers made contact with a 24-year-old man who was in the driver's seat, and a 21-year-old female passenger.

Officers observed the driver was bleeding from his hand and had several scratches on his face. The arresting officer reported smelling a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. Both admitted to have been drinking, according to the arrest report.

The man stated that his girlfriend had battered him on his face and hand and that's why he pulled the vehicle over.

The woman told authorities they were both arguing and and that she hit her boyfriend several times. After the woman was placed into custody, officers found two joints inside of her purse. She was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery and possession of marijuana.

The man submitted to a field sobriety test and failed it. He was placed into custody and taken to jail. The man submitted two breath samples, each time blowing .106, according to the arrest report. The legal limit in Nevada is .08.

— A Minden woman was arrested on Wednesday and faces a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence, reportedly blowing breath tests as high as .317 and as low as .235.

The 63 year-old woman, who is reportedly a Douglas County substitute teacher, was stopped at the corner of Snyder and Bigelow in Carson City at about 12:30 in the afternoon.

A witness reported the woman driving erratically in the areas of Edmonds and Koontz, colliding with a concrete construction barrier.

Officers stopped the woman and noticed she had red blurry eyes and smelled of alcohol. She reportedly wasn't able to stand upright and told the arresting officer that she had one glass of wine an hour prior.

The woman agreed to submit to field sobriety tests in which she failed. A breath test sample given at the scene, with the initial test registering a .235 at at 12:58 p.m. In the pre-booking area the woman took two breath samples into the Intoxilyzer machine, with the first test registering a .313 at 1:38 p.m. and a second sample breath test of .317 at 1:42 p.m.
