Carson City sheriff’s arrest log: Man jailed on drug trafficking, meth possession charges

A 33-year-old Fallon man, Michael Earl Wiseman, was arrested Friday, 12:24 a.m. at Highway 50 and Airport Road on felony drug charges of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance and probation violation, a Carson City Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Team deputy said.

According to the arrest report, deputies made a traffic stop after seeing Wiseman flick a lit cigarette out of the driver side window with glowing embers scattering. Wiseman admitted to doing it. A deputy asked the man if he had anything illegal in the vehicle. Wiseman said he did not.

The deputy used a K9 to conduct an exterior “sniff” of the vehicle. The K9, Rex, alerted on the vehicle, the arrest report states. A records check with dispatch showed Wiseman being on State of Nevada Parole and Probation with a search and seizure clause as part of his conditions.

Wiseman was asked if he had anything on him he is not supposed to have. The man said he did not. A deputy searched him and felt a large bulge in the man’s left shirt pocket. The officer asked him what it was and the man did not reply. The officer removed a large bag of methamphetamine from the man’s shirt that weighed approximately 28 grams.

Wiseman was arrested on suspicion of trafficking, possession and probation violation charges, all felonies, and a misdemeanor charge of throwing a burning object from a vehicle, a misdemeanor. Bail for the drug and littering charge, $46,137 with a no bail hold pending a parole and probation hearing.

In other arrests: A 21-year-old Carson City man, Julian Quincy Lewis, was arrested Thursday, 9:37 p.m. in the 1200 block of Woodside Drive on a felony warrant alleging statutory sexual seduction, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said. The warrant was issued March 30, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $15,000.

— A 30-year-old Carson City man, Anthony Allen Teixeira, was arrested Thursday, 12:39 p.m. in the 300 block of East William Street on suspicion of felony third DUI, and misdemeanor failure to maintain a single lane of traffic.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to a fast food restaurant in reference to an intoxicated driver. The reporting witness advised Teixeira was driving northbound on Stewart Street near the fast food restaurant when he passed out at the wheel and entered the southbound travel lane.

His vehicle stopped in the roadway. The reporting witness checked on the man and advised he appeared intoxicated, the arrest report states. the witness removed the keys from the vehicle and stood by until deputies arrived, the arrest report states.

Officers met with the man who appeared intoxicated and was unsteady on his feet. He had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person, and red watery eyes. He admitted to drinking beer after work, the arrest report states.

He submitted to four field sobriety tests and failed all tests. Officers checked on his driving history, showing DUI convictions in August 2010 and August 2012. He was taken to jail on suspicion of third DUI and a search warrant for an evidentiary blood draw was extended through a Carson City judge. Bail: $10,137.

— A 34-year-old Gardnerville man was booked into Carson City Jail Thursday, 7:45 p.m. on a misdemeanor domestic battery warrant issued March 31, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.

— A 26-year-old Carson City woman turned herself into Carson City jail deputies on Wednesday for misdemeanor warrant charges of contempt of court out of Carson City Justice Court and Reno Justice Court. Bail: $1,400.

Those arrested on criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
