With Street Vibrations rapidly approaching, thousands of motorcyclists are projected to be arriving in Carson City and the surrounding areas. Many events will be held during this time, as riders from around the country come to enjoy this popular event.

As drivers, we will need to pay attention to those riding around us. Not all operators of motorcycles are experienced riders and crashes may occur if both driver and rider are not paying full attention to their surroundings.

According to Sheriff Furlong “This year’s celebration will have additional events being held in the downtown corridor as well as those held at Harley Davidson. Please use extra caution and allow ample time to reach your destination.”

As with many of these events, alcohol consumption is always a concern. People come to have fun, meet friends, check out the multitudes of custom bikes, and enjoy the music and party atmosphere however, when it comes to operating a motor vehicle or riding your motorcycle, alcohol is one party favor you should try and avoid.

Traffic is expected to be heavy in the Carson City area during Street Vibrations, if you are going to drink, don’t drive or ride, instead take a taxi or designate a sober driver to get you home safely.

As this is a three day event which will go into the evening hours, both drivers and riders should be alert and take appropriate actions to avoid crashes. Slow down when approaching crosswalks especially at night when visibility is limited.

Let’s have a safe, fun, and memorable event. Enjoy the ride!
