Carson City deputies make several court warrant arrests

Carson City sheriff's deputies have made several court violation arrests since Monday. The arrests have been both misdemeanor and felony related. Arrests have also been made that involved domestic abuse, theft, driving under the influence of drugs and huffing.

Deputies arrested a 28-year-old transient with outstanding felony and gross misdemeanor warrants. Melanie Huddleston, was arrested early Wednesday morning, 3:16 a.m. at a casino in the 3800 block of Highway 50 East.

A warrant was issued for her arrest out of Lyon County March 25 for failure to appear on a charge of unlawful taking of a motor vehicle. She is being held without bail.

— A 19-year-old man was arrested at 2:59 p.m. April 23 at Mesquite and Robinson streets and faces several misdemeanor charges including three failure to appear warrants for traffic violations, driving without a valid driver's license and a stop sign violation.

The man, driving a white Honda Civic, was observed failing to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Drew and Robinson streets. Bail: $1,284.

— A 46-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the 3800 block of Carson Street early Wednesday morning at 3:16 a.m. on a failure to appear warrant out of East Fork Township in Douglas County. Bail: $1,112.

— A 48-year-old Carson City man was jailed and faces two misdemeanor charges of being in violation of pre-trial conditions. The man was arrested in the 3000 block of Florentine at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday. Officers were called to the home in response to a report of domestic dispute. The man had alcohol on his breath. Among his pre-trial conditions was for him not to drink alcohol. Bail: $6,000.

— A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested April 22, 10:15 p.m. at South Carson and Clearview on a felony warrant. Michael Fletcher was wanted by authorities for alleged credit card fraud. Bail: $1,000.

— A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested April 22, 3:45 p.m. in the 3800 block of South Carson Street and faces a misdemeanor charge of petit larceny.

According to the arrest report The man allegedly walked into Kohls, went into the dressing room and removed tags from articles of clothing for a total value of $162. He was stopped by store security in the parking lot. The clothing includes a jean vest, two bracelets, and a belt. Bail: $352.

— A 52-year-old Carson City woman was arrested April 22 at 20 College Parkway and faces four misdemeanor charges including DUI, failure to maintain lane, driving without a valid driver's license and driving on a revoked or suspended registration.

A motorist contacted Carson City dispatch 6:56 p.m. regarding a DUI driver. Officers located the driver who reported the DUI driver and followed the DUI driver who was stopped at the address.

Officers spoke with the woman and noticed she had thick slurred speech but did not smell of alcohol. The arresting officer asked the woman if she had taken any prescription medication and the woman replied Vicodin, Abien and Lexipro. The woman did not have a license because it was suspended for no proof of insurance. She also failed a eye-based field sobriety test. Blood samples were taken given that the woman was observed by officers swerving as she drove. Bail: $1,523.

— A 24-year-old woman was jailed after turning herself into the Carson City Sheriff's Office on April 22 at 10:10 a.m. on a contempt of court warrant. Bail: $500.

— A 56-year-old Los Angeles woman, Ketsana Khounphonh, was booked into Carson City Jail on April 21, 10 p.m. on a felony parole and probation warrant.

— A 55-year-old Carson City man was arrested April 23, 1 a.m. in the 2400 block of North Carson Street and faces a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. The man allegedly pushed his girlfriend into a broken piece of glass candle. The woman was bleeding from the leg and was taken to Carson Tahoe Hospital.
The man was described as being highly intoxicated when deputies spoke with him. Bail: $3,137.

— A 39-year old Carson City man was arrested April 22, 9:56 p.m. and faces a misdemeanor charge of huffing. Officers responded to the College Parkway address after receiving a report of someone screaming for help. Officers arrived at the location and heard a man inside moaning and then laughing and hearing bursts of air coming from a can.

Officers had earlier knocked on the locked door several times and announced "Sheriff's Office." After additional backup arrived, including the Carson City Fire Department, officers went to the residence again and noticed the front door was unlocked, the arrest report states.

The man, who was sitting on a couch, invited officers inside. Officers asked the man if he was OK and the man turned vulgar and belligerent, asking officers what their "f****** problem" was, the arrest report states. Officers noted a 12-ounce can of Dust Off compressed air on a table. The man was asked how much he had huffed and the man replied: "Not enough." The man was treated by Carson City Fire Department for huffing and taken to jail. Bail: $1,732.

Those arrested and facing charges are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
