A 37-year-old Carson City man was jailed Saturday after allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol with a small child in the car without a safety seat.
According to the arrest report, a Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy observed the man driving and failing to main his lane of travel and changing directions onto the Carson City freeway without using a signal.
The vehicle then was observed going southbound between Highway 50 East and Fairview Drive, drifting over the broken white line and crossing the right fog lane line, the arrest report states.
The deputy initiated a traffic stop at Fairview and South Lompa Lane at 8:38 p.m. and spoke with the man who had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, the arrest report states. A small boy was was seated in the middle bench area sleeping. The man told the officer that he had one beer at a friend's apartment, the report states.
He was asked to submit to field sobriety tests and failed all tests, the arrest report states. He was taken into custody and the boy's mother was called to the scene to take custody of their son, the arrest report states.
The man was taken to jail where he participated in evidentiary breath tests. The two breath test showed him to be illegal per se, the arrest report states. He was booked into jail on the following charges: Gross misdemeanor neglect of a child: driving with a child in a car while under the influence; misdemeanor driving under the influence, not having a child in proper restraints and failure to maintain a single lane of traffic. — A 33-year-old Mound House woman was arrested Friday, 11:25 a.m. in the 3800 block of South Carson Street on suspicion of misdemeanor larceny for allegedly shoplifting clothing. The woman also had a probation condition for which she was in violation. Bail $3,341.
— A 79-year-old Carson City man turned himself into authorities Friday, 2:04 p.m. on a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued out of Carson City Township Court on March 24, 2014. Bail: $1,000.
— An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 11:23 p.m. in the 1000 block of North Saliman Road on suspicion of obstruction and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. According to the arrest report, Carson City Special Enforcement Team officers learned of three subjects walking around closed businesses in the area of Saliman and Highway 50 East. The three were stopped and provided an officer wrong names. Two of the three were under the age of 16 and had been drinking. The 18-year-old man's mother confirmed the identity of her son to deputies. Bail: $1,049.
— A 49-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday, March 28, 1:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Corbett Street on a misdemeanor warrant charge of violation of a suspended sentence. The warrant was issued Feb. 25, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court.
According to the arrest report, officers went to the residence after a report was called in that two men were fighting. Officers spoke with a woman on scene who reported that her boyfriend was "fighting over stupid stuff." She provided information to officers when it was learned that she had the warrant for her arrest, violation of a suspended sentence for having a positive drug test. Bail: $3,000.
Her boyfriend was also arrested on a similar charge, violation of a suspended sentence, for a warrant he had for his arrest issued March 25, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.
— A Carson City woman was booked into jail Friday, 4:09 p.m. on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued out of East Fork Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday on a misdemeanor warrant charge for failure to appear and pay fines after being stopped Friday, 6:35 p.m. on Russell Way for having a burned out tail lamp. Dispatch advised of the warrant after the traffic stop. Bail: $284.
— A 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 10:32 a.m. at East William and Saliman Road on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $1,000.
— A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, March 29, at 11:18 a.m. on a warrant failure to appear for traffic court. Bail: $257.
— A 24-year-old South Lake Tahoe woman was booked into Carson City Jail on Saturday, 7:08 p.m. on a misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence warrant. Bail: $1,000.
— A 43-year-old woman was arrested Saturday, in the 2000 block of West College Parkway on a misdemeanor warrant for battery issued March 25, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 2:19 a.m. in the 900 block of East Robinson Street on a misdemeanor charge of violation of a suspended sentence.
According to the arrest report, officers were called to the location regarding a loud party at the home. The man became uncooperative with officers when he was asked to move a vehicle that parked on the sidewalk in front of the residence.
He was arrested for violating conditions of his sentence through Alternative Sentencing after he was consuming alcohol, when he was ordered not to. His preliminary breath test was a .198. Bail: $1,000.
— A Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 3:05 p.m. in the 1900 block of Marian Avenue on a misdemeanor charge of being in violation of Alternative Sentencing conditions, consuming alcohol when being ordered not to drink alcohol.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the residence for a reported battery. Officers spoke with the woman who said she had drank several shots of alcohol. A computer check showed she was ordered not to consume alcohol as part of her conditions. Bail: $3,000.
Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
