A 53-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday on four misdemeanor charges, including DUI, destruction of private property, driving on a suspended license and resisting arrest after she drove her vehicle into a building, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

The incident happened in the 3300 block of Highway 50 East at 10:41 a.m. Officers arrived and found the woman had driven a white Toyota pickup into the north side of a business. The vehicle was running and still in drive gear, with the engine revving at a high rpm, according to the arrest report.

A deputy opened the driver’s door and detained the woman. He asked if she would perform field sobriety tests. The woman said she would not. The officer asked how much alcohol she had to drink. The woman replied “too much.”

The officer requested Carson City fire and ambulance to check for any medical problems. The woman was cleared by ambulance personnel and the officer attempted to place handcuffs on her in which she resisted. She also refused to get in the patrol car.

The woman was taken to jail where she provided a preliminary breath test of a .284. She was then taken to the hospital to be checked for any medical conditions. At the hospital officer read the woman the Nevada Implied Consent where she allowed technicians to draw blood. The woman was taken back to jail after being medically cleared. Bail: $2,763.
