A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday in the 800 block of East Long Street. He faces two failure to appear in court charges and driving on a suspended license, all misdemeanors.
According to the arrest report, a Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy stopped the man after observing an unlicensed vehicle traveling south on Roop Street.
A warrant search was done on the driver where it was learned he had a suspended driver's license and two confirmed warrants out of Carson City Justice Court. Both warrants were for failure to appear on traffic citation, issued Jan. 6, 2014. He was arrested at 10:16 p.m. Bail: $3,547.
In other arrests: A 52-year-old man was arrested Monday in the area of Highway 50 East and Russell Way on suspicion of being an intoxicated pedestrian and having an open container in public.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched at 2:25 p.m. to a motel in the 1400 block of Rand Avenue regarding a man, who was not a guest, attempting to open a room. The man yelled obscenities at the maintenance man after he was asked if he needed help and then walked to a nearby convenience store where he also yelled at clerks, the arrest report states.
The man was located on the sidewalk near the Carson City freeway and Highway 50 East with a large can of Steel Reserve in his hand. He smelled strongly of alcohol and submitted to a preliminary breath test with a result of .216. He also appeared to be under the influence of drugs. He was taken to jail where it was noted in the arrest report that he has a prior history of failure to appear. Bail: $174.
— A Carson City man was arrested Monday, 9:50 a.m. at Roop and Musser streets on a failure to appear traffic warrant issued Aug. 20, 2013, out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $172.
— A 39-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Monday, 8:58 a.m. on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued through Carson City Justice Court on March 27, 2013. Bail: $500.
— A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested March 10, 2:54 p.m. at Musser and Carson Streets on a contempt of court warrant issued July 17, 1997 out of East Fork Township. The man was stopped by a Carson City Sheriff's Office patrol deputy for a broken front windshield. Dispatch confirmed the outstanding misdemeanor warrant. Bail: $2,500.
— A 36-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 6:33 a.m. in the area of Arrowhead and Bowers Lane on a warrant, suspicion of misdemeanor issuance of a check without proper funds, issued out of Washoe County, Sept. 26, 2013.
According to the arrest report, officers patrolling the area stopped the woman after the vehicle she was driving failed to stop at a stop sign. Carson City dispatch advised the woman had the confirmed warrant out of Reno Township Justice Court. Bail: $300.
Those facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
