A car driven by an elderly man crashed into the El Torito Bakery and Butcher shop in the 300 block of Winne Lane in Carson City at around 5 p.m. Tuesday. It was the second time within a week that a motorist had driven into a business.
The driver told Carson City fire and rescue that he doesn't know what happened and wasn't hurt but would like to go to the hospital. No one else appeared injured and drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor, said Carson City Fire Department Battalion Chief Eric Bero.
The building was being checked for structural damage and it appears there wasn't much damage to the building itself except for the broken windows and what was inside the bakery, Bero said.
"I hope he's OK," he said.
Nearby patrons of the Crossroads bar, next to El Torito, said they heard the accident, described it as crashing windows, but didn't see it happen.
On Friday a motorist drove into the entrance of Tuesday Morning in the 3900 block of South Carson Street sending at least two to the hospital.
