Two people were arrested at a Carson Street casino early Thursday morning after officers were called regarding a fight inside a bathroom, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said. Neither arrest involved assault charges at the casino, located in 900 block of South Carson Street. The fight had broken up at around the time officers arrived.
A man was arrested 12:41 a.m. on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of pre-trial supervision, issued Nov. 6, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. He was detained after saying he had been involved in the fight and then, later, arrested when officers learned he had a warrant. Bail: $3,000.
Meanwhile, a 36-year-old woman was arrested at 1:29 a.m. and faces charge of trespassing. According to the arrest report, deputies made contact with the Carson City woman who was involved in the fight. She was extremely intoxicated, later providing a breath sample of .181, the arrest report states. Casino personnel asked the woman to leave the property due to her causing disturbances inside.
She began to exit the casino and then stopped before exiting. A deputy informed her she needed to leave per orders of the casino management. She walked outside and became uncooperative with the officer, stating officers were harassing her and casino management didn't want her to leave.
The woman was informed that she needed to leave the property and that the officer would call her a cab. She stated she would leave in a cab. When the cab arrived the woman stated she was not going to leave. She was arrested and taken to jail. Casino personnel provided a citizens arrest form. Bail: $337.
In other arrests:
— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 2:27 a.m. in the area of Highway 50 and the Carson City Freeway on suspicion of DUI, driving without headlights and not having proof of insurance, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, the deputy was on patrol driving east on Highway 50 and noticed a pickup traveling west on Highway 50 without its front headlights activated. The driver of the vehicle went past Lompa Lane and had not turned on his headlights for a quite a distance.
The officer initiated a traffic stop east of the northbound I-580 onramp and made contact with the driver, who had an odor of alcohol coming from his breath, red, watery eyes and slurred speech. He was asked to perform a series of standardized field sobriety tests in which he did not satisfactorily complete, the report states.
He submitted to a preliminary breath test which was recorded above the legal limit. He was arrested for DUI and chose to take a blood test. Bail: $1,946.
— A transient was arrested Wednesday, 5:20 p.m. in the area of Retail Drive and Market Street on a warrant, failure to appear in traffic court, issued Nov. 13, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $190.
Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
