A Carson City couple were arrested Monday on felony charges after being found engaging in sex acts outdoors where people could see, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Steven Helton, 28, and Tracey L. Johnson, 44, were arrested at 5:41 p.m. in the grassy area near the DMV at South Carson and Stewart streets.
According to the arrest report, officers responded to a 911 call of a couple having sex in public. Officers met with the caller who pointed to a grassy area south of the DMV and north of Office Depot.
The officer looked at where the witness was pointing and saw Helton on top of Johnson engaging in sex, the arrest report states.
The officer walked over to the pair, stood behind them for 30 seconds before announcing “Is this the best place for you two to have sex?” the arrest report states. Helton rolled off of Johnson and put his clothes back on.
The woman told the deputy “a man has needs.” Both Helton and Johnson were arrested for sex acts in public and taken to jail. Bail was set at $7,500 each.

At 3:19 a.m. a deputy made contact with the man standing at the front door of the fast food restaurant with both hands in the air. The officer asked the man what was going on. The man hurled an obscenity at the officer, who could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath and was stumbling as he was trying to stand.
The officer asked the man to sit on the sidewalk and talk. Again the man told the officer to “f*** off.” The officer asked the man several times if he would be willing to take a cab home. The man became very upset and would not stop yelling, according to the arrest report.
The officer told the man he needed to take a cab home due to him being very intoxicated. The man replied a third time with an obscenity. The officer warned the man he would be arrested for being disorderly. The man told the officer to “go to hell” and “take me to jail.” He was arrested.
While en route, the man yelled and kicked the inside of the patrol car. Once at the jail, he continued to be uncooperative with detention staff. After he was removed, the officer found multiple dents on the passenger side inner door panel. Bail: $864.
