Veronica Anne Rowe, 26, of Carson City, was arrested Tuesday night for allegedly shooting her boyfriend in the head and hand with a BB gun.
According to the arrest report, a witness at the scene in the 3100 block of Wingate Way stated that Rowe came home intoxicated and started arguing with the victim, and in her rage, started breaking glass jars in the garage. When her boyfriend went to the garage to check on her, she allegedly shot him in the top of the head with a BB gun, and shot him again in the hand as he tried to block the shot. The BBs from both shots were embedded in the victim's skin.
The victim's account was that Rowe shot at him several times with the BB gun when he went in the garage the first time, but missed. When he went in again, Rowe was allegedly banging her head against the garage floor. When he told her to stop, she picked up the gun and shot him twice.
Deputies stated in the report that Rowe was intoxicated and screaming for the entire time they were on the scene. According to the deputies, Rowe told them that she and the victim were having sex in the garage when the witness to the event walked in on them. She said that was when the argument started, and that her boyfriend punched her before she shot him with the BB gun.
A preliminary breath test showed Rowe had a blood alcohol level of .19.
Rowe was arrested for felony battery with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor domestic battery. She was also found to have had a misdemeanor warrant for her arrest out of Churchill County. Bail was set at $34,099.
