A 22-year-old Dayton man was arrested in a high risk traffic stop Tuesday for a felony priority 5 parole and probation warrant and misdemeanor possession of marijuana, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Tyler Jacob Wutch was arrested at 3:10 p.m. in the area of Sherman Lane and Highway 50 East. According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched to the area of Highway 50 and the county line. Wutch was wanted on the felony warrant and was said to be in the area and a passenger inside a vehicle.

The deputy observed the vehicle with plates matching the description going westbound on Highway 50 East. The officer and a trooper with the Nevada Highway Patrol made a high risk traffic stop due to the priority 5 felony, automatic arrest warrant. The man exited the vehicle and was taken into custody.

During a search of Wutch, officers found a small bag filled with less than an ounce of marijuana in his front left pants pocket. He is being held without bail in lieu of a hearing on the parole and probation warrant and $737 for the marijuana possession.

In other arrests:
— A 44-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 2:23 a.m. in the area of Roop and College Parkway on misdemeanor suspicion of DUI and driving on a suspended registration. According to the arrest report, a deputy made a traffic stop because the registration on the vehicle the man was driving was suspended.

The driver smelled of alcohol. He told the deputy he had consumed six beers. He performed standardized field sobriety tests unsatisfactorily and provided a preliminary breath test of .222. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and taken to jail where he consented to a blood test. Bail: $1,234.

— A 26-year-old Sparks man was booked into jail Tuesday, 4:30 p.m. on a criminal contempt warrant issued out of Sparks Justice Court. Bail: $500.
