Carson City sheriff’s log: Man with drugs in underwear faces trafficking charge

A 48-year-old man was arrested Friday on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale and drug trafficking after he was found concealing drugs in his underwear, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Marc Silva of Mound House was placed into custody at 9:39 p.m. at a home in the 1100 block of Woodside Drive. A 40-year-old Carson City woman with him was also arrested on two misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the arrest report, officers assigned to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team were dispatched to the area on a followup of an earlier case. Officers were let inside a home and saw two people attempt leave a room and go into a bedroom.

A deputy stopped the woman and another officer met with Silva. While a deputy was talking with the woman they saw a yellow butane torch and a plastic pen tube in front of her. An officer recovered the torch and pen tube, which had brown sticky residue inside. These items were in front of the woman. She was placed into custody for drug paraphernalia. The woman was also sitting on a purse. Inside was a glass methamphetamine pipe, 5 tooter straws commonly used for inhaling meth, 2 baggies with residue and a spoon with burn marks on the bottom and brown residue on top of it.

Officers were also meeting with Silva. The man had two baggies of methamphetamine that were in his underwear that fell to the ground. Also found in the man’s underwear, concealed in the buttocks area, were drugs in a clear plastic baggie. Silva was booked into custody for possession of a controlled substance and trafficking schedule 1, 4 to 14 grams. Bail for Silva: $22,500. The woman faces two misdemeanor charges. Her bail was set at $2,274.

— A 43-year-old Carson City woman, Sally Jean Whooley, was arrested Friday, 5:42 p.m. in the 500 block of North Division Street on a felony warrant issued out of Carson City District Court, a gross misdemeanor charge of possession of dangerous drugs without a prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the arrest report, a SET officer with the Carson City Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area in reference to drug activity coming from a house. Dispatch advised they received a call from an anonymous person stating that an unusual chemical odor was coming from the residence.

An officer arrived and observed the suspect standing outside the home. The officer identified himself and asked the woman if they could speak. Whooley agreed. The officer informed the woman that they were investigating possible drug activity coming from the home. Whooley denied drug activity coming from the home.

She stated the house was rented and that she was staying in one of the bedrooms. The officer asked Whooley if they could search the bedroom. She stated no, the arrest report states.

Dispatch advised she had two confirmed warrants for her arrest. An officer advised she had the warrants and she stated she already knew that. Before placing the woman into custody she asked if officers could get her purse and bag that was in her bedroom. A deputy then went inside and retrieved a black bag and a black purse. Before giving the woman the bag she allowed deputies to search them, the arrest report states.

During the search officers found two prescription only Lidocaine, 700 mg adhesive patches inside. An officer read the woman her Miranda rights. She stated she understood and agreed to speak. She stated the patches belong to a friend. She would not provide the officer with the name of the friend, the arrest report states.

The officer asked the woman if there was any other drugs or paraphernalia in the house. She stated there was a methamphetamine pipe in the bedroom inside a black pouch. She said the pouch was located in her bedroom on the headboard. She allowed the officer to go inside the home and retrieve it.

Once inside the bedroom the officer found a black cloth pouch with a glass pipe with a bulb burnt end. The pipe had white residue, presumed to be methamphetamine. The pouch also had a small piece of cloth that had burn marks.

She was arrested on the felony warrant, possession of dangerous drugs without a prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $3,637 for the gross misdemeanor charge and possession charge. A no bail hold in lieu of a hearing on the felony district court warrant charge.

— A 56-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 2:44 p.m. in the area of Idaho and Fairview on a felony immigration warrant issued June 10, 2015. Alberto Fuentas is being held without bail pending a hearing.

— A 46-year-old Carson City woman, Pamela Den Warner, was arrested Thursday, 12:50 p.m. in the 3300 block of Highway 50 East on felony suspicion of obtaining money, goods and services under false pretense and violation of bail conditions.

According to the arrest report, the woman picked up prescription medication, 90 counts of Oxycodone, 15 milligram, from a pharmacy in which instructions were given not to give to the suspect, who was a domestic partner of the person who had the prescription. The transaction was captured on the pharmacy’s security cameras.
The woman was found inside a casino and arrested. It remains unknown at this time what she did with the medication. Bail: $5,000.

— A 25-year-old Bishop, Calif., man, Cody Cage Ward, was booked into jail Saturday, 2:30 a.m. on a felony parole and probation warrant issued Jan. 3, 2012. He is being held without bail pending extradition.

— An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 12:16 p.m. in the 600 block of Hot Springs Road on four misdemeanor charges, possession of drug paraphernalia, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, violation of bail conditions and criminal contempt. Bail: $5,274.

— A 26-year-old Carson City woman was booked into jail Friday, 8 p.m. on a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued June 3, 2015 out of Sparks Municipal Court. Bail: $605.

— A 22-year-old Dayton woman was arrested Friday, 12:50 p.m. in the area of Fairview and Gordon streets on misdemeanor warrant charges issued out of Reno Township and Carson City Justice courts. Bail: $1,031.

— A 28-year-old Dayton woman was arrested Saturday, 4:30 a.m. on a contempt of court warrant issued Feb. 5, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $337.

— A 34-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 12:05 a.m. on a misdemeanor failure to comply warrant issued May 5, 2015 out of Sparks Justice Court. Bail: $250.

— A 20-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday, 11:38 p.m. in the 4400 block of Kings Canyon Road on misdemeanor charges of DUI, minor consuming alcohol, destruction of property and a warrant for contempt of court issued June 22, 2015.

According to the arrest report, the woman drove her vehicle onto a front lawn of a residence damaging landscaping, grass, some curbing and hitting a tree. There were deep tire tracks in the lawn area where the vehicle appeared to spin out, the arrest report states.

The woman admitted to consuming wine, saying she drank a half a bottle while on a hike and then saying she drank a full bottle, the arrest report states. She agreed to standardized field sobriety tests where she demonstrated signs of impairment. She yielded a sample of .154 on a preliminary breath test.
She was taken into custody and agreed to evidentiary breath samples with results of .128 and .117. A records check revealed she had a warrant for her arrest. Bail: $2,516.

— A 54-year-old Cason City man was arrested Friday, 8:56 p.m. in the 5700 block of Laurel Road on misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery first offense. According to the arrest report, the man allegedly punched his wife in the face four times and bit her arm. Officers could see a fresh bruise next to the victim’s right eye and was bleeding from the nose, the arrest report states.

The victim said she and her husband began arguing and he began “trashing the house,” the arrest report states. Officers observed many items broken and thrown around the house consistent to what the victim said. The suspect said he and his wife got into a verbal argument that escalated. He said he asked that his wife give him space because he was in a “fit of rage” and said he pushed the television onto the ground and was going to break the microwave when the woman tried to stop him. He said he grabbed the woman’s arm and bit it. He also said the woman poured a drink over his head and he attempted to hit the drink out of the woman’s hand, but hit her instead. The officer asked the man if he hit the woman in the face. The man said he didn’t remember. He was taken into custody. Bail: $3,137.

— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 4:46 a.m. in the area of Washington and Stewart streets on misdemeanor charges of DUI, failure to maintain a single lane, failure to stop at a stop sign and violation of probation. According to the arrest report, officers patrolling the area of a casino observed a vehicle traveling through the parking lot at an estimated 20 mph. The vehicle left the area and crossed onto Anderson Street and slammed on its brakes. The vehicle then car came to rest in the middle of the road. The vehicle turned northbound on Anderson and entered the southbound lane of travel while going north. The vehicle activated the turn signal and drove through the stop sign at Robinson and Anderson streets, the arrest report states.

An officer initiated a traffic stop and met with the driver who had a strong odor of alcohol, red watery eyes and slurred speech. He was asked if he had consumed alcohol. The man said a drink or so, the arrest report states. He submitted to four field sobriety tests and failed all tests. He was taken into custody and provided consent for an evidentiary breath tests in which he provided two samples that showed to be above .08. The suspect is under the supervision of Alternative Sentencing and has a clause that requires him to obey all laws. He was also booked on charges of violation of probation. Bail: $4,311.

— A 49-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 12:26 a.m. in the 600 block of Minnesota on misdemeanor charges of violation of probation. The woman had been drinking alcohol, a violation of her probation. She submitted a BAC of .121. Bail: $3,000.
