Two Carson Valley men face several charges, including felony offering of a controlled substance, following a sting set up by authorities on Craigslist to lure people to an underage party at a Carson City hotel.
An advertisement had been placed on Craigslist by Carson City sheriff's deputies that called for drinks at a party given by an 18-year-old. According to the arrest report, two 18-year-old decoys had been communicating with one of the suspects, who said that he would bring marijuana to the party.
The two men arrived at the motel on Saturday and met with the 18 year-old decoys. The 18-year-old suspect produced a baggie of marijuana from his right pants pocket and offered the pot to the 18-year-old decoys, according to the arrest report.
The men were detained. One of the suspects, age 22, was on alternative sentencing with a "no alcohol" clause. In a breath test he blew a .133, according to the arrest report. Alternative sentencing advised the man should be arrested for criminal contempt. His bail was set at $3,000.
Following a search, the 18-year-old suspect was in possession of a marijuana pipe in his left pants pocket. He was arrested on charges of felony offering a controlled substance, misdemeanor being in possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $21,874.
