A man accused of felony third offense DUI fought with officers who used pepper spray and a Taser to bring the suspect under control.
Arthur R. Porter, 21, of Reno, was arrested Monday at 8:47 a.m. in the 300 block of Nye Lane in Carson City.
A Nevada Department of Wildlife game warden spotted the suspect driving a 2008 GMC Yukon through Washoe Valley on U.S. 395. The game warden reported that the driver was swerving and nearly struck another vehicle. After entering Carson City, the game warden stopped the suspect vehicle, and observed that the driver smelled of alcohol and was having problems standing up.
The suspect then ran away from the scene and climbed over a fence. The game warden sprayed the suspect with pepper spray, which failed to stop him. Carson City Sheriff Deputies then found the suspect a short distance away, where he fought with the deputies, who used a Taser to subdue him.
Porter was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI (3rd offense), misdemeanor reckless driving, misdemeanor driving on suspended/revoked license, misdemeanor obstructing with violence and misdemeanor breech of peace. Bail was set at $13,528.
