Two people are dead and three are injured after three motorcycles crashed into each other Saturday morning on Geiger Grade, the Nevada Highway Patrol reports.
The crash happened at around 9:15 a.m. on State Route 341, which was shut down for several hours, said NHP Trooper Dave Gibson. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
NHP says a preliminary investigation is underway and thus far it has learned that one of the motorcycles veered left from the center of the road and collided with a second motorcycle which then collided into the third, ejecting all riders and two female passengers.
The identities of the riders have not been released and it is unknown if alcohol was a factor.
NHP hasn't yet disclosed details into a motorcycle crash Friday night in Washoe Valley north of Carson City that sent a motorcycle rider the hospital via Care Flight.
