A 47-year-old Kansas man was booked Monday into Carson City Jail on a felony warrant for being a fugitive from justice. John Paul Stewart was booked by the Carson City Sheriff's Office jail staff. The warrant was filed for record March 18, 2013 out of Campbell County, Wyo. Stewart will be extradited.
In other arrests: A 39-year-old man was booked Monday into Carson City Jail on three misdemeanor warrants for failure to appear in court. The Carson City man turned himself at the jail facility at 5:15 p.m. Dispatched confirmed the three outstanding warrants issued April 4, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.
— A 24-year-old Fallon man was booked Monday into Carson City Jail on a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear, issued March 5, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. The man was brought to Carson City by Churchill County deputies. Bail: $500.
— A 27-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday in the 3100 block of Oreana Drive on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery. According to the arrest report, an argument at the home was reported by the woman. Officers arrived and interviewed the husband and wife. The couple had been arguing over house work and an errant post on Facebook, according to the arrest report. The woman said her husband pushed her causing a bruise. The woman admitted to punching her husband in the face, the arrest report states. Bail: $3,137.
— A 30-year-old Dayton woman was arrested Monday, 12:41 a.m. on suspicion of misdemeanor driving under the influence, failure to maintain a single lane of traffic and speeding.
According to the Carson City Sheriff's Office arrest report, a woman at a business in the 4200 block of South Carson Street called dispatch to report an intoxicated woman was preparing to drive.
A deputy followed the woman to the intersection of Silver Sage drive and then eastbound on Clearview. The officer paced the woman going 45 mph in a 35 mph zone and observed the woman's vehicle crossing the fog line twice, according to the arrest report.
The vehicle turned northbound onto Edmonds Drive from Clearview. During the turn the vehicle crossed the fog line again and the officer made a traffic stop. The officer spoke with the woman, who smelled of a slight odor of alcohol, had watery eyes and her speech was slurred, according to the arrest report.
The woman told officers she had consumed 8 shots of vodka, a shot of fireball whiskey and two beers the night before and that she had stopped drinking the previous night. Bail: $1,321.
Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
