Carson City woman arrested after allegedly punching, biting her 15-year-old daughter

A 34-year-old man was arrested Jan. 14, 8:15 p.m. at 20 College Parkway and is being held without bail on a fugitive from justice warrant out of California, according to the Carson City Sheriff's Office.

Nicholas Schroeder also faces a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana. According to the arrest report, officers responded on an anonymous tip that Schroeder was at a residence and had the warrant.

Officers arrived as Schroeder attempted to flee and was tackled inside the doorway of an apartment at 20 College Parkway, the arrest report states. Officers found an open pill bottle and buds of marijuana amounting to 1 gram.

— A 43-year-old Carson City man was arrested Jan. 14, 4:20 p.m. in the 1600 block of Brown Street. Toby Mays faces a felony warrant charge of grand larceny out of Dayton Justice Court.

According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to the Brown Street address in reference to a report by Lyon County Sheriff's Office that Mays was living there. He was arrested without incident. Bail: $10,000.

In other arrests:
— A 33-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the 600 block of Hot Springs Road early Wednesday morning. She faces a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.

According to the arrest report, officers responded to the address at around 1:15 a.m. regarding a domestic dispute. They spoke with a 15-year-old girl who said that her mother punched her in the face after she told her she was disgusting for having loud sex, the arrest report states.

The girl said she fought back when her mother punched her. When she thought it ended she told officers she walked to her room where she was attacked again by her mother who allegedly scratched and bit her.

A man who had been with the girl's mother broke up the fight. He told police that he and the 33-year-old woman were having sexual relations, that it got too loud, and that it was the mother that attacked the daughter.

The man told officers that was all he knew and that he was on his second date with the 33-year-old woman, the arrest report states. Both he and the woman were intoxicated.

The suspect denied there was a fight saying it was only an argument. The woman was taken to jail on a domestic battery charge and provided a breath sample of .15. The 15-year-old girl called her grandmother who arrived to take care of her and her 5-year-old sister. Bail: $3,137.

— A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested and faces a misdemeanor charge of probation violation. The arrest happened on Jan. 14, 8:58 p.m. in the 600 block of Hot Springs Road.

Officers responded to a report of a possible DUI driver. The vehicle was parked in the driveway. Officers asked the man to step outside the apartment. Officers noted the man smelled of alcohol and had red, watery eyes.
The man said that another person named "Bubba" was in the vehicle with him. Officers conducted a wants and warrants check where dispatch informed them that he was on Alternative Sentencing with a "no alcohol" clause. The man provided a preliminary breath test where he blew a .06, the arrest report states. The report of DUI was unfounded. Bail: $3,000.

— A 48-year-old Carson City man was arrested Jan. 14, 12:55 p.m. in the 200 block of David. He faces a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, officers arrived and made contact with a couple.

The woman told officers that she and her boyfriend were in an argument about money and she became upset and wanted to leave. She said she got dressed and tried to leave but the man would get the doors first and lock them, the arrest report states.

The woman said she grabbed her phone to call police but that the man grabbed her forearm and took it from her. She said she then screamed for help. She said she was not hurt and the man was not aggressive or violent. The woman filled out a statement and allowed for photographs but there were no visible marks or injuries.

The man told officers a similar story, saying he only locked the door because the woman wasn't entirely clothed and he took the phone because she was calling her friends and was emotional. He said he did grab the woman's arm but added he never has or would hurt her. Bail: $3,132.

— A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested Jan. 14, 8:40 a.m. at Carson and Stewart streets. He faces a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear traffic warrant. Bail: $215.

— A 36-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Jan. 14, 12:53 p.m. at Ponderosa and Roland street. she faces a warrant charge of contempt of court, failure to appear. Bail: $227.

Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
