Jacob Daniel Houser was arrested July 8 in Fresno, Calif., after a warrant for his arrest was issued July 7. He was extradited and returned Wednesday to Carson City where he faces sex crime charges, said Carson City Sheriff’s Office Detective Sal Acosta.
Houser is accused of using social media to arrange a meeting with the girls, ages 14 and 13. He drove from Central Valley to Carson City, bringing alcohol with him. He allegedly had consensual sex with the 14-year-old girl and then allegedly raped the 13-year-old girl when she was passed out, Acosta said.
He was captured by police in Fresno. Five law enforcement agencies around California’s Central Valley were notified of the warrant and were instrumental in locating Houser, said Acosta.
The suspect is originally from Turlock and has lived in Carson City, Tennessee and in Oakdale, Calif. His biological mother lives in Carson City.
Acosta said Houser met the girls online where they agreed to meet with him. He told the girls that he drove several hours to Carson City from California to meet, supplied them alcohol and then had consensual sex with the 14-year-old girl and sexually assaulted the 13 year old girl.
Houser faces felony charges of sexual assault with a victim under 16; which is to be amended to a victim under 14 and statutory sexual seduction that involved the 14-year-old girl, said Acosta. He is being held on $100,000 bail.
The investigation continues with other charges likely forthcoming, said Acosta. He does have a criminal history in California, Acosta noted. Carson Now has requested the criminal complaint from the Carson City District Attorney's Office. Check back for updates.
