Carson City arrest log: Man jailed on felony burglary charge

A 19-year-old Carson City man faces a felony charge of residential burglary and misdemeanor possession of stolen property after he and two others were arrested Monday inside a Siskiyou Drive home, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said. Gabriel Ramirez Mendoza is being held on $26,137 bail.

According to the arrest report, officers were called to the home at 6:44 p.m. for a report of a residential burglary in progress. The homeowner called 911 from a hidden location in the residence as three subjects broke in and began stealing items.
Officers arrived and got the victim safely out of the home and then entered to look for the suspects.

Officers looked inside the home and saw the three run out of the back garage door and attempted to jump a fence onto Shriver Street, the arrest report states.

The three were caught and arrested. Mendoza was the only adult out of the three, the two others were 17-year-old juveniles, the arrest report stated.

Items identified as belonging to the victim were located on Mendoza and in the vehicle the three were driving that also indicated that at least one trip from the victim’s home to the vehicle was made. Mendoza was arrested and charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor possession of stolen property. He was interviewed by detectives and taken to jail.

In other arrests:
— A 37-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday, 11:04 p.m. in the 5900 block of Highway 50 East. She faces a misdemeanor warrant charge, criminal contempt, issued Oct. 13, 2014 out of Churchill County Municipal Court. Bail: $1,057.

— A 41-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested Monday, 3:17 p.m. in the 5300 block of Conte Drive on a misdemeanor warrant, contempt of court, issued July 17, 2003 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.

— A 37-year-old Sun Valley man was booked into jail Monday, 8:23 a.m. on a misdemeanor warrant, failure to comply, issued Dec. 3, 2014 out of Reno Township Justice Court. Bail: $993.

— A 34-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Monday, 2:50 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant charge, contempt of court, issued Jan. 26, 2015, out of East Fork Township. Bail: $500.

— A 20-year-old Dayton man was booked Monday into Carson City Jail on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a suspended sentence, issued Oct. 23, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.

— A 44-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the 1800 block of North Division Street on a misdemeanor charge, violation of bail conditions. According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched regarding and intoxicated driver seen leaving the Carson City Courthouse.

The suspect allegedly got into a white four door sedan and left the area. The officer saw a vehicle match the description turn onto Bath Street from Carson Street. Dispatch gave the license plate number which was registered to the woman that was subsequently arrested.

The officer saw the vehicle parked in the driveway. The officer felt the hood on the car and it was still warm, the arrest report states. The officer knocked on the door and asked the woman to come to the door. She would not. After several attempts she came to an open window and talked to the officer.

She had red, watery eyes and slurred speech and the officer could smell the odor of alcohol coming from her breath.

The woman opened the door and let the officer inside. The woman was on Alternative Sentencing with a “no drinking” clause. She provided a preliminary breath test that registered a .200, the report states. She was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of violation of conditions. Bail: $3,000.

Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
