An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday and faces a felony charge of intimidating a police officer following a hit and run investigation in Lyon County at the Bunny Ranch.
Francisco Avalos was arrested at 11:41 p.m. in the 2700 block of Mayflower Way. He was booked into jail following an incident in which he put his arms to the face of an officer in an intimidating manner. He also faces two misdemeanor charges including obstructing and being a minor consuming alcohol.
According to the arrest report, Lyon County Sheriff's Office asked Carson City sheriff's patrol officers to follow up on a hit and run investigation that happened at the Bunny Ranch in Mound House.
The vehicle in the hit and run had a license plate that came back to a residence in the 2700 block of Mayflower Way.
Officers went to the home and met with Avalos who became hostile to officers. He smelled of alcohol and began to extend his arms toward the face of an officer. The officer told Avalos to move his hand away from his face but Avalos continued to do so. He was placed into cuffs following some resistance, the arrest report states.
After being detained, he told officers he should have turned his dog on them. As he was arguing with deputies, he told them that they were lucky that his dog wasn't sent or else the officers would have been "chewed up," according to the arrest report.
A deputy told Avalos that if they wer attacked, the dog could have been shot. The man replied "I will shoot all of you guys" and informed officers he had been in a shootout before, the arrest report states.
Avalos submitted to a preliminary breath test where he blew a .115. He faces the felony charge, and misdemeanor charges of obstructing and being a minor consuming alcohol. Bail: $10,969 for the Carson City charges. It is unknown at this time what charges he faces in Lyon County for the alleged hit and run. The vehicle believed to be the one in the incident, did have a broken tail light.

— A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, Aug. 7, 11:53 p.m. in the 1700 block of Brown Street. He faces a misdemeanor charge of obstructing. Also, a 26-year-old man, Mario Quevedo, of Carson City was arrested on a felony parole and probation violation.
Officers were called to the apartment following a domestic dispute between two men and woman. The 24-year-old man was arrested after officers responded to an apartment and found him to be being uncooperative.
Quevedo was found inside the bathroom of the apartment and was placed into cuffs. As part of his conditions for parole and probation, he is not allowed to drink alcohol. He blew a .082 in a preliminary breath test. He is being held without bail pending a hearing on the violation. The 24-year-old man was jailed for misdemeanor obstructing. Bail: $347.
— A 57-year-old Carson City man faces misdemeanor charges of driving on an expired registration, suspended license and failure to appear. He was stopped Wednesday, August 7, in the 400 block of Adams Street. Bail: $1,108.
— A 45-year-old Carson City man as arrested Aug. 2, 12:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of East William Street. He faces misdemeanor charges of fictitious registration and no proof of insurance. The man was pulled over for expired license plate tags. A subsequent check through records showed the man to have nine prior citations, four of which went for failure to appear in court. Bail: $815.
— A 52-year old transient was arrested Wednesday, 11:22 a.m. in the Brunswick Canyon area on a failure to appear warrant out of Elko. Bail: $3,137. Officers were dispatched to the canyon to follow up a report of a man who was unlawfully camping.
Those arrested and facing charges are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
