Caden Lehman, a senior at Carson High School, an officer for the Capitol FFA program, and an officer in the Douglas-Carson High School Rodeo Club, recently had his biggest win doing what he loves. He is involved in Team Roping and Calf Roping and is a member of the American Cowboys Team Roping Association.

Recently at the ACTRA National Finals in Reno at the Livestock Events Center, Caden won the Super 7 National Championship, landing him and his partner, Jack Curry of Gardnerville, each new Royal T 3-horse trailers, buckles, and $10,000 cash.

To date this is Caden's biggest win, earlier this year he won 2 roping saddles, buckles, and money prizes, but nothing quite compares to winning this awesome trophy horse trailer and a national title. Caden is looking forward to representing his FFA Chapter next week while competing at FFA Nationals in Kentucky and he is currently talking to a few Rodeo College Coaches and touring campuses to get ready for his college Rodeo years.

C Hill to be painted
OK Carson Senators, our help has been requested for a community service project. The C on C Hill is in need of fresh paint. All of the paint and supplies have been donated. So now we just need man power. We will meet at 2:45 PM on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at the Greenhouse Garden Center on Curry Street. We will hike up to the C and give the C a fresh paint before the 150th anniversary of Nevada Day. Teachers, staff, students, parents, alumni and any other community members are welcome to help. Contact Angila Golik at 283-1737 for more information.

Bowling Start
The CHS bowling team will have its first club meeting on Monday, November 3rd at 2:15 at Gold Dust West bowling center. We will discuss a pre-season practice schedule, the tentative competition schedule, rules, fees and paperwork requirements.   New members are welcome.  Come prepared to bowl after the meeting.  If you have any questions, see Mrs. Mannschreck in room 231 or call 283-1743.

Autobody Donations
Do you have a good used car or truck setting in your driveway or back yard.  Do not give it to junk yard.  Would you like to denote it to the Automotive Service Technology or Auto Body Classes to be used for student training?  We can give you a letter for your taxes as a denotation and you will be helping our students to learn on actual vehicles.  We could use some good late model vehicles to teach our students the new technology.   Please contract Bill Barbie, Automotive Service Technology teacher at 283-1681 or bbarbie@carson.k12.nv.us.

National Honor Society
Our fall blood drive was a success! 188 lifesaving donors stepped up to donate, giving 148 successful donations, resulting in 185 products for our community.
