Carson City Sheriff's Report: Man with felony fugitive warrant from California arrested

A Carson City man with a felony fugitive from justice warrant out of California was arrested in the 500 block of Bath Street Dec. 27 at 11:34 p.m.
Jonathan Roland Dionne, 24, was being held without bail from a warrant issued out of Solano County, Calif., on charges of cruelty to a child causing possibility of injury or death, driving under the influence and failure to comply with terms under probation.

He also had a failure to appear warrant for his arrest issued Aug. 15, 2012 in Dayton Township Justice Court on a charge of failure to appear for sentencing on a DUI charge.

According to the arrest report, a deputy saw a vehicle pull into the east parking lot of Fritsch Elementary School on the Bath Street side. Because the officer observed this at around 11: 30 p.m. he stopped the vehicle to see what was its business at the school. A passenger inside the vehicle identified himself as Jonathan Dionne and told the officer he had a warrant for his arrest.

Inside the vehicle on the floor board next to Dionne was an opened, partially consumed can of Bud Light. Officers asked the other passengers and Dionne and all said it was Dionn'e can of beer.

He was arrested and taken to jail for booking.

In misdemeanor-related arrests:

— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested at 12:54 a.m. Dec. 23 in the 2400 block of Lewis Drive on a misdemeanor domestic battery warrant. Bond: $5,000.

— A 24-year-old Carson City woman was arrested at 4:33 p.m. Dec. 27 at the intersection of Fairview and Highway 50 on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. According to the police report, a towing company notified authorities that the woman had a warrant and then left in a grey Volkswagen. Deputies observed the vehicle driving southbound on Fairview at Highway 50 and initiated a traffic stop. The woman was arrested. Bail: $500.

— A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested at 11:09 on Dec. 27 at the intersection of Rand and Long and faces misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and failure to yield.

According to the arrest report officers were patrolling the westbound lane of Highway 50 when a deputy observed a vehicle making a left hand turn onto Rand from Highway 50. The vehicle turned directly in front of the patrol vehicle causing the officer to slam on his brakes and swerve to avoid collision, the arrest report states.

A traffic stop was made on Rand and Long. The man spoke with a thick slurred speech and had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath. The man admitted to having consumed alcoholic beverages and failed all field sobriety tests. He was taken into custody and a breath sample of .215 and .205 were taken.

— Those arrested and face charges are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
