Carson City sheriff's log: Man jailed on drug charge, used bullhorn to pull people over

A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 6:32 p.m. in the 1600 block of Spooner Drive on felony suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, a gross misdemeanor charge of impersonating a peace officer, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and a window tinting violation.

Booked into custody was Joseph Arthur Calloway. According to the arrest report, deputies responded to the area for a report of a red SUV attempting to pull people over. The vehicle was stopped on Spooner Lane and the driver of the vehicle matched the description by the reporting witness. The driver identified himself as Calloway with a Nevada driver’s license.

A deputy found a bullhorn in the rear seat area of the vehicle and was set on a sound that mimicked a police siren, the arrest report states. He was placed under arrest. During an inventory of the vehicle the officer found a portion of an ink pen tube with heroin residue. Bail: $6,244.

In other arrests: A 56-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Sunday, 9:08 p.m. in the 2900 block of Airport Road on two misdemeanor charges of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, the man allegedly threw a television and struck two people inside a residence. The man was arrested. He provided a preliminary breath test of .192, the arrest report states. Bail: $6,274.

— A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 1:27 a.m. at Moffet Park on misdemeanor charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and three counts furnishing alcohol to minors. A 20 year-old was also arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

According to the arrest report, an officer on routine patrol saw two cars parked in the dirt lot of the park on Lepire Drive after hours.

There were two adults and three juvenile girls. In plain view the officer saw an open bottle of Fireball whiskey in the front passenger seat and an unopened can of Bud Light beer in the left rear floor board of one of the vehicles. The three juvenile girls were discovered to have consumed the whiskey and had provided positive preliminary breath tests. The men were arrested and the girls were issued citations and released to their parents. Bail for the 22-year-old, $2,548. Bail for the 20-year-old, $637.

— A 27-year-old Carson City woman was booked into jail Sunday, 5:30 p.m. in a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued Sept. 29, 2015. Bail: $3,000.

— A 25-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Sunday, 5:30 p.m. on two misdemeanor failure to appear traffic warrants. Bail: $460.
